Extend range on a RF remote control

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to increase the range on my remote control. Right it transmits with 1/8 watt. I've heard that the maximum watts allowed on a remote control is 1 watt. so what do I need to modify on my remote control to get 1 watt out of it.

here is a link to the type of remote control that I'm using. http://www.linearcorp.com/product.asp?product=DNT00052A

Please tell me what to do as though I was 5 years old.

Yes that’s my point; improving the antenna by fitting one!
Adding an amplifier would of course help but it will also complicate the circuit and consume more energy from the battery.
An example: if I attach a only a short piece of wire to the output socket of my RF signal generator the signal can be picked up around the block instead of just on the top of my workbench! ;)
