I work for a company that sells valves and valve controllers for the process industry.  Each package that we design has to be tested before it can ship.  To make testing faster I am building a test panel that will integrate a variety of pressure regulators, 24VDC, 12VDC and 110VAC.  I am having trouble finding a 4-20mA loop calibrator.  I have found many of the handheld versions but I want to build it in to the panel.  The calibrator needs to be able to vary from 4-20mA with a digital display of the current and using a pot to vary it.  I am not well versed in electronic circuit design but I think I am going to have to build this to get what I need.  If there anybody that can help me with this project?

This link provides the type of calibrator that I am looking for http://www.martelcalibrators.com/pdf/M-B_LC-100B&WDS.pdf

I have looked at using a PLC but I am not sure that this is the way to go.

Thanks for anyone willing to help!!

Hi jryan,

Welcome to our forum.

The Martel calibrator looks expensive; you are obviously looking for a simpler solution. I had a similar question not long ago here: http://www.electronics-lab.com/forum/index.php?topic=8260.0
This might be a start. ;)
