dwdw
After reading this thread I an interested in building a 3 axis controller. This is what I have :1. Full size Enco mill2. Digital display for the X,Y nothing for the Z except for a crude chain drive DC motor on the knee and I would move that to the quill.3. Resolution is only 0.00054. Quadrature encoders are on the table with anti-backlash gears, not the modern linear type glass etched encoder. Is there a way to use 24Volt DC motors 9using a high and low speed PWM controller on each to drive the lead screws and use the encoders for the feedback to the controller?I have worked on this type of unit (only the mechanical end) I have a good handle on the way it works and a reasonable electronics backround.Any help would be apreciated.Thank Youdwdw
