Auxillary ATX power supply controller

Recommended Posts

I am currently trying to make some sort of circuit that would allow me to send bytes from an RS232 port, which would tell it to make the PS_ON pin high. I think I found out that the best way to approach this would be to use a converter that converts the serial data into 8 separate pins. I then would connect the pins to different logic gates so that sending the byte "00000001" would be like pushing an on button, and sending the byte "00000010" would turn it off. I already have the logic part sketched out. Any comments or help is appreciated.
