Hi all
First of all I have basic knowledge of electronics.
I am trying to fix a battery charger and need to change out the following transistor but cannot find them anywhere, is there an equivalent I could use.

The transistors are

A1015 GR 9E
And
C945 P 98C

Additional information
The charger works but the LED does not light up to say its charged and switch off so constantly charging.
There is no voltage to the LED so I think it's the A1015 transistor at fault.

Ebay seem to have both. The A1015 is a epitaxial transistor, dont quite know why its used in a battery charger. Maybe some of the other guys might know.
I'll see if I can draw a circuit for you over the weekend. But Kris will probally be on soon and beat me to it, he loves this sort of thing.

The transitor(s) can be board removed for check purpose (as the led) before replacement.
However both transistors are popular Japanese models.
2SA2015, European equivalent is BC557, same package different pinout
2SC945,European equivalent is BC547, same package different pinout

The battery is a 18V 2.0Ah

Sorry It should be C945 not C495 transistor

When you've replaced the transistors you should add a diode across the relay coil to protect Q2 against back EMF. This should have been included in the original design. The relay doesn't have a diode built-in. Here's how to connect it. Just tack it on the underside.

Hope these are the right ones to replace the A1015 GR 9E transistor.
Like I said a bit out of my depth here.

Sorry but these are the ones I ordered cannot take pic off iPad but this is the item number off Ebay

From the picture they don't look like surface mount transistors. I have trouble seeing normal components without the aid of a magnifying glass. Lol

He most likely does know what he is selling. What sellers will do is add a bunch of somewhat random words to there title, so when you search one of
those words it will bring up there listing.

I guess that is a possibility
But then its just false advertising and confusing for someone who is relatively new in electronics

Yes it can get very confusing so thanks all for sticking with me on this really appreciate it. As soon as the transistors arrive I will replace the A1015 transistor and add the diode. Fingers crossed. These are coming from Hong Kong so expect them to land in a week or so.
