Of course you can.
HackRF One with Portapack H2 upgrade.
Uses an ARM cortex. Which are hardened against Electro-Magnetic Interference
(EMI) radiation.
The ESP32 is an MCU while ‘ARM Cortex’ is a generic brand name for a series of cores designed by ARM Ltd.
The upgrade Portapack H2 uses ARM Cortex M4-powered Software Defined Radio(SDR). ARM Cortex license those cores as intellectual property to 3rd parties who then integrate them into their chips. The third party in this case is the Havoc firmware, although HackRF One does have transmitters and decoders built into it, the Havoc firmware has many more decoders and transmitter options.
Yes, I can walk around my neighborhood and scan for vehicle key fob transmitters cuz the key fob is always pinging your vehicle.
I can capture that code & retransmit, stand by your vehicle and open it.
Also works on garage door openers and most of your smart home appliances , video doorbells & door locks.
It's a lot more inexpensive than an RF service monitor.
I have one.... I added it to my inventory of Technical Surveillance Counter-Measures equipment (TSCM).

I'm going to finish the light board - and it sounds like this one can't be a project because of the word "hack"!. Starting back up on the wheel project got another wheel (heavier) and stuck the magnets and bought a kilo of square structural parts for stability (lego technics) strarting that one really soon and bought new coils 8 of them 4 either side and welding rods for the cores and will see it through to the end! the light baord got boring because of the repetitiveness of the circuit but have almost finished column number 5 and at least I'm starting projects

You're just the latest version.
You can all use an upgrade, integration. .
HackRF it's very popular with a sub-culture of human beings who implant sensors in their body.
I think it's time for a flash upgrade.

Not necessarily. "Hacking" has a connotation of being a bad thing evil people pursue.
But hacking spans far broader than that. It also has the meaning of modifying or repurposing stuff for good use. Have a look at this website, for example.
It boils down to "what are you going to do with your hacking device?".
