Hello,

I would like to try and fix, learn on something since I am a newbie at this. Here is what I know of what happened:
- when plugged in no lights
- when connected to battery no lights
- died while in use overnight
- rained at night, but was inside engine compartment with hood down
- had some lightning that was not forecasted

I found this thread via search and gave me some hope that might be fixable, but before tearing it apart, wanted to see if given the circumstances should test further.

I have identified what I believe to be the primary fuse, but it has two numbers adjacent to it:
- T250 6.3A(LC12-1000-2249)
and
- T250 10A(LC12-2000-2250)

The board itself is very clean, do not see signs (to my eye) of failed components.

Thanks,
Davlun

Show make/model of charger along with photos inside and out, as well as both sides of the pc board.
Any close up (for example fuses quoted) should be previewed before posting to ensure clean sharp photos.

Be aware before you even begin, any switchmode type supply repairs are not for beginners.
Show what type of test equipment you have.

T250 6.3A
The (T) stands for time delay, commonly known as “slow blow fuse” 250Volts , 6.3 Amperes.
With your battery charger unplugged or disconnected from your household electrical utility mains.Get a digital multimeter put it on beeper or continuity and put the probes across the fuse. No beep = open fuse no connection. It has done what it is supposed to do; disconnecting power, to your battery charger.
Check both fuses.

just take one photo once you open the case do not take photos of the underside of the board you may come in contact with electrical components that are holding lethal charges. It’s dangerous! first things first we are concentrating on the fuses. Follow my directions and make sure an adult is with you in the room.
