It’s amazing that with just a handful of electronic components (eg. the basic elements are just the resistor, inductor, and capacitor) you can build really complex devices.
It’s equally astounding that with a handful of logic gates (ie. you really only need the NAND gate) you have the basis for all of computing.
A couple of professors have said this in the electrical engineering classes I took in school.
I think they were exaggerating.
