Why do most pocket AM radio receivers have shorter (non resonant) antennas

I doubt there'd be much call for 'pocket' radios with a 2 metre long antenna sticking out. The 20cm whip may well have a base-loading coil to increase its effective length..

There is a lot of misinformation online, unfortunately.

The diodes are the right way round in the pic you posted.

    Is This Really a 470nF 400V ceramic capacitor ?

Welcome to maker.pro! Both C1 and R2 have the wrong values if they're driven by the 12V secondary of the transformer and the LED is intended as a 'power on' indicator.

Range on PWM circuit not good

Wire up U2 the same way as you were advused in your other post, to get ~0-100% duty-cycle variation.
  6. Alec_t

Is there anyway this circuit could be improved?

The configuration shown in post #1 only allows duty cycle adjustment between about 17% and 50%. Is that ok for your needs? If not, the post #12 configuration would be better as it allows almost 0% to 100% duty cycle variation. Why does a change in frequency with duty cycle matter to you in this...

    help with IR2110 chips

You don't have any power-hungry diodes to worry about.

    help with IR2110 chips

It could happen. But in any well-designed practical circuit there is always something in series to limit the current to a safe level at which the diode can survive.

555 circuit to open/close car door window

A problem with using fixed times for the open/close electronic functions is that friction in the movement mechanism will change the window speed with e.g. temperature, moisture present, dirt on the glass etc. You would also need sensors to detect obstructions (pet's head, kid's fingers etc) and...

Yes. With any IC the decoupling cap(s) need(s) to be as close to the supply pins as is practical.

Check the datasheets for the IR2110 and 7805 to see what the recommended decoupling arrangements are.

No. Who suggested that? The MOSFETs already have parasitic capacitances.

    Wireless charging in PVC tube

I would expect wireless charging to be possible, but rather inefficient. Couldn't you just have a couple of electrodes passing through seals in the tube wall? An internal diode would prevent battery discharge via the water.

    help with IR2110 chips

You have no drive signals for Hin and Lin. There should be dead time between the Hin and Lin switching edges to prevent shoot-through, which might otherwise be a problem.
