Simple video on how boost converters work with demo

Hi all, came across a quick video with demonstration of a boost converter. Thought it was worth sharing:

Need Hardware list for 5-Dot-Matrix printing with Wifi-Modules

Even with , you will have variations due to terrain. I would test your theory to see if you will not need a more sophisticated method of synchronizing the cars.

Did I get shocked by my TV power supply?

This time of year, I would expect you to be wearing a shirt while working so there is a good chance your stomach was insulated. That being said, not likely related. Have you been under a lot of stress lately? It could very well be medical related like mentioned before, anxiety.

newbie trying to make a basic monitoring circuit

Well said pgib8! Dirk, if you understood the above, its called a voltage divider. You can feed this into your op amp's inputs and use that to trigger your light.

Split one electricity cord over two appliances with different voltage inputs

You could put a transformer inside your box to step down your 220vac along with a bridge rectifier and a voltage regulator to give you a steady 7-12 volts for your arduino. I would recommend to find a step down transformer that is intrinsically fused or add a fuse inline. That would give you one...

Mike, we will need more information that this. Can you provide specs on the coin slot timer? Does it really run off of ac?

    Aluminum Extrusion

Hey Chris, do you have any aluminum wholesaler's in your area? Think of places that sell to gutter, fascia and soffit tradesmen and you should be able to source that.

    PCB building

Its wet sandpaper, typically black in color and has very fine grit - 400 to 1000 grit is common and is used often for rubbing down finishes in woodworking as well as in auto body work. I still don't use it for pcb's because we exert uneven pressure when sanding by hand and cut through too deeply...

    PCB building

Don't use sandpaper - I have found that it scores too deeply - try steel wool instead - much better surface. Deep scores produced with sandpaper alter etching in my opinion.

    Heated Gloves

Agreed, in a glove that is a lot of heat being dissipated to your hands! When its being used to warm the cycles handgrips they are counting on heat loss to the atmosphere and through convection.

    PCB building

I have found the opposite - if the solution is weak, it takes too long to etch everywhere evenly, leading to undercutting and pitting. A stronger solution in my recent experiences has successfully etched small boards (under 2"x2") in about 7 minutes. Warm solution works better. Having a denser...

    PCB building

That board looks really good Constantine! I only see one trace that got necked down and needs rework. I got a roll of film recently and I am reading up on using the photoresist method. Alas, undercutting is always a problem with etching... The only way I have found useful to counter that is to...

    Calculation of a Potentiometer

So Rui, you can either construct your own using a 555 and some other components or purchase a ready made module for a little bit of money.

    Calculation of a Potentiometer

I think he is hinting at using the pot to adjust the fan speed. A magnetic stirrer is used in labs to mix chemicals in glassware. A rotating magnet below a thin table surface is used to attract and spin another cylindrical shaped magnetic coated in a plastic that is dropped into a beaker.

I Want To Make A Device That Tells Me That Electricity Is Back

I missed this before AK - this is a really good point! If OP simply plugged in the suggested circuit it would always blink because either generator or AC from po.co. would be feeding it. He needs a AC tap from his box prior to the generator interconnect.

I Want To Make A Device That Tells Me That Electricity Is Back

Welcome to the forum tonitobato! The power in your country is 220-240v at 50Hz, I was thinking of a simple circuit, others will need to come by and validate it, however, what is your skill level in electronics?
