    Antique Automotive Resistors

sorry for the intellect involved.... Early motorcycles were simple, had everything connected to ground, pull the power side, check for current, test the device, if that's ok, thats not the problem. next device. Newer machines, the ones made between the 70's and the 90's were built in a state...

    Antique Automotive Resistors

I need to be assured of your intellect before I continue to post here.... I also need a resistor pack for my 1981 XS1100 Yamaha. I have read that if you seen one resistor pack you seen them all, but these motorcycle packs are sealed in a case that is near on impervious.. I don't have one or I...

    Woo-Woo Charging...food for thought

I need some coaching on battery charging, and I think we all could use a primer on the different types. I want to charge a 3v lithium battery Br(what ever this means)2/3A it is a panasonic matsushita electric... it says on the battery... do not recharge.. which means in modern terms... "We...

    Multi meter question?

got my attention anyway... The teach I learned from was a working guy, and he said it like this... And I "kelly" on a supurb first post! "...there are alot of bouncing millivolts out there, and there are even more hackers selling crappy meters, if it isn't reading right try a different meter...

    Chip Sheet Data

I really think my hobby is getting a good education from you guys! I still don't really understand how TTL with multi-emitter transistors can be simulated or emulated by hex schmitt triggers. I had to solder one of the pins that were broke back on... look closely at the chips lower left end...

The eprom requires ttl signal at the inputs, I want to trigger the individual registers on the eprom with it.

    Chip Sheet Data

in electronics there is so much BS...(probably why you put up with me) but besides that point, I found a chip that is a 7414, and I assumed it was one of the infamous 74 chips, but after I got the datasheet, it was a pack of schmidt triggers. The chip fires has 6 nand gates and is called a hex...

circuit to show how much treble or bass

This is my idea for a guitar tone control... but I would have alot better control with an eprom set to fire 65000 different capacitances.... so I want to build a digital version with more lights!

    Resistor ID help

I make it a habit not to mess with control boards unless absolutely necessary. The placement of this component on the control board will probably give some hint as to what it is supposed to do. Its hard to tell what a component is even with a schematic, unless some poor sap (lmao) took the time...

    Power Supply Transformer Markings

here are the choke pinout readings... the other transformer has an center tapped inductor that reads 1.68mH and different center tapped inductor that reads .68mH. Am I to assume that if I put a low power into the .68mH coil, that the 1.68mH coil will be higher in power? I am trying to learn...

    eprom studys...

Assuming the individual devices(input pins), the datasheet is talking about, receive a signal from the Chip enable(here after known as the CE), that input devices byte(the one programmed into the chip), should show on the lights.... The button is at the OE(output enable) so I can put the chip...

    eprom studys...

Here in lies full of problems ! I power the EPROM to read the individual bytes stored... bread board with 1k resistors for the LED's. It would seem that any input that is connected, should effect the byte shown, EXPLANE--- if I disconnect a resistor, it will kill an LED--> ? hence the LED burns...

How to reconnect this tiny cable?

never use anything over 30w on electronics. 15w is suggested for board work. and get some regular electronics solder.. for electronics. To repair a wire connection--- 1.you strip the insulation to bare the wire. 2.you apply solder paste to the wire... 3.then put a drop of solder on your...
