Sansui 7000 Receiver with weak FM

The most common problem I have found with weak signal strength on receivers is the first RF amplifier stage the antenna is attached, probably due to static charge from lightning. However, a faulty IF stage will produce the same effect.

Can you identify this power switch?

Is this a momentary switch or a latching switch (click on, click off)?

    Zettler relays

Hi Diesel. I downloaded the datasheet and there is no mention of a W in the part #, additionally there is no mention of the F. The 1A means it is SPST N.O. The E in the part # means it has a seal. If you can buy just 1 of the W version, I would try it. I didn't notice but the above link does...

    source of replacement potentiometer

Did you try Bluejets suggestion and spray it to clean it? I recently used WD-40 to fix scratchy sound on bass amplifier - fixed. Volume on electric guitar - fixed. Tone control on friend's stereo - fixed. Of course I spray all switches and controls once I'm inside the unit.

Adding a trim pot to a fan motor

Try a motor speed controller for an attic fan. You may need to mount it in a box but be careful! You don't want to play with line current if you don't EXACTLY know what your doing. Paying someone to do the wiring for you will cost a lot less than a hospital stay.

Need Help with simple 9V circuit design.

Thank you for tolerating mine! When I started working for our company they were using a wirewound 100 ohm pot to control the speed of a small hobby motor. It had its limitations. You had to start it on high speed and slowly work it down in speed. A lot of customers didn't understand that and...

Need Help with simple 9V circuit design.

Yes. The regulators have an input (B+), output (regulated) and ground.

Need Help with simple 9V circuit design.

No. The input to the voltage regulator goes to B+ 9V, not ground.

Need Help with simple 9V circuit design.

If you don't care about a speed control, something like this should work. LP2950 voltage regulators are available in many voltages. Just don't choose one over 5V. I found many low dropout regulators get finicky without a capacitor. Hence the 10uF. If this is a little hobby motor, the diode can...

Curtis rcd628 CD Player won’t read

Open the case. Locate the laser. Soak a cotton swab in contact cleaner and clean the laser lens. If you use rubbing alcohol instead of contact cleaner, repeat the process with a dry cotton swab and wait about 10 minutes as alcohol has water in it.

    LM386 Amplifier Module help

Thanks WHO. I just checked the circuit. Pin 1 is going to ground. If there's any offset, the speaker's not chewing up battery power with the output cap. When I turn up the volume, there is room filling sound with no distortion. It works fine for us without any oscillations on the scope. The...
