    555 flasher isnt flashing

I don't believe you are correct about the continuity of your buses. The gap in the red and blue stripes has always indicated a gap in the buses on breadboards I've seen. Try installing jumpers just to humor me and @WHONOES.

    4017 IC

Your approach to sourcing seems very limited. Unless you have to complete this project in less than 1 week or you just want to tinker as your username may suggest, there's no reason to "carve" your own LEDs or buy expensive, non-optimal devices at local retail stores. We have a resource here...

    4017 IC

That's fine if and only if the O.P. doesn't intend any parallel connection of his "dozen red and about 4 yellow" LEDs. I usually assume a reasonable, delimited for hot weather, design current for the CD4017 to be ≈15mA at 12V. Inverted cone, also known as straw hat, helmet, dented lens, etc...

    4017 IC

You will need driver transistors; the CD4017 outputs can only source or sink a few mA. I'd probably use 2N7000s.

Where can I find Ferric Chloride Hexahydrate in the USA?

VWR, Fisher and Mallinckrodt come to mind as manufacturers but your likely easiest, most readily available option is going to be MG Chemicals Ferric Chloride Etchant solution available from most of the electronic parts suppliers and even by online order from Walmart.

    Circular?

I wonder if any of the packages would let you define a square board and not complain when you decided to have really large corner radii that left the straight portions between them ridiculously short, like 1mm. :D

    What is this part?!

That's toroidal. Misspelling doesn't always work in searches.

Is Kester 44 60/40 rosen core solder correct for general work?

Kester 44 is a classic electronics solder so yes, you can use it. I prefer 62% Sn/36% Pb/2% Ag solder with 3.3% rosin flux myself but it's hard to find in the smallest diameters. Your inability to effectively remove rosin flux is strange. Leaving it makes boards difficult or impossible to...

    Pedal powered generator

I have a 60Wh power bank that can charge from an input voltage between 9 and 24. Unfortunately, the model is discontinued and I don't know if there are any similarly capable units available from reputable manufacturers. If such a thing were available, your kids could just accumulate power for...

Circuit diagram for Kenco singles drinks Machine

I see an unreadable label of some kind. Please see! his resource for tips on photography. It's written for circuit board photography but can be applied to a label as well. https://www.electronicspoint.com/resources/how-to-take-photos-of-circuit-boards.6/

Can you identify this for me please?

This may be a joke. "What is this thing that has a complete part number, that can be Googled, shown in multiple out of focus pictures?"

    Infrared headphones idea help please

Yes, you're on the wrong tree. Either the system is IR or it RF, not both. Either way, it's faster, easier and cheaper to buy a pair of wired headphones than try to modify these receiver headphones. They aren't particularly high fidelity or special.

    What is this thing?

I took another look at the size and edited my post after you quoted my first bad guess. o_O

    What is this thing?

It's a compression driver for a horn speaker. The back cover is missing and it has no horn attached. From physical size, it's probably in the 20 Watt range. Horns of this size are typically used as car and house alarm sounders as well as for small public address systems.

    DIY harness for car amplifier?

That's the right type (F crimp). The packaging lists a range from 28 – 18 AWG so unless some of your wires are bigger than 18 AWG, you should be good. Take a look at this thread for some advice on F crimps: https://www.electronicspoint.com/threads/crimp-bullet-shur-connector-te-connectivity.288585/

That all makes sense. I'm very surprised that I hadn't discovered this earlier. I don't have this limit on other forums. I wonder how they manage the associated problems you've described.

    DIY harness for car amplifier?

You can get them from most electronic suppliers; Digikey, Mouser, Jameco, some automltive shops and any local electronics shop if you have one. I have no idea what you're referring to by "Duponts". I'm aware of the company but they make thousands of things across multiple industries.

I am perfectionistic in my posts. I routinely correct and add content to my posts for at least ten minutes after initially posting and on other forums I participate in I will sometimes correct typos on posts that are years old.

Well, if it's set at 1 minute, that could be the issue. I've never run into this before. I just noticed that it is a time issue but it's set very short. My original post in this thread is now uneditable.

No. I usually realize that I have an error or omission quite soon after posting.
