    Solar cell power

I have 2 x 7v Solar cells in driving a small 6v DC motor at 7v it will not start until I push the shaft and then it runs with good speed and powers a music box easily Without using a relay capacitor booster is there anyway a capacitor would work on a 2 wire DC motor or is there another...

    Wanted: 350-450 Hertz at 120 V

I need a 350 to 450 Hz variable at 120 v to drive small motors and Hz meters probably about 15 watts. this is to test old military meters only to see if they are working....Thanks...Jeff±±

    Replace IC 4049

Thanks Harald I'm going to redo the entire circuit with more capacitors and more test points ...colum

    Replace IC 4049

Thank you for that valuable information. I have decided to go back to square one and find a diagram that will drive a various speed synchronous motor I think I will beg someone in these forums to send me one Your advice is much appreciated...colum

    Replace IC 4049

That is how its hooked up except that the 10uf is lower

    Replace IC 4049

The supply starts off as 10 V and then is split with the CD4027 to 2 X 5V

    Replace IC 4049

I may have an incomplete diagram, I do not see any and the role of capacitors are confusing at least for me

    Replace IC 4049

The 4049 goes to the Transistors with 5V pulsing on each leg that had been 10 V but was divided by the 4027

    Replace IC 4049

Thanks all for your valuable input. I think the 4 transistor option to the 4049 may be even more complicated to someone like me so I wonder if someone would make a comment on my hand written circuit earlier. Keeping in mind that there is no load on the IRFs not even the transformer so I may have...

    Replace IC 4049

The output of the 4049 works fine with a nice even V swing until I hook it up to the transistors and without any load at all the 4049 overheats and becomes unstable V swing. I may have the wrong Trans hook up so I'm including my circuit Many thanks

    Replace IC 4049

Many thanks for the circuit....Its supposed to drive a variable synchrous motor and a DC motor to point a telescope, I only intend to use the synchrous drive only so its from the 555 to the 4049 works fine but once the output gets hooked up to the Transistors the 4049 heats up. without any...

    Replace IC 4049

The 4049 in this circuit overheats and quits working. This IC is supposed to increase the power to drive the transistors and has alot of wires and seems like a big complication. Could it be replaced by 2 transistors with enough power to drive the IRF510

    Analog frequency meter

Hi Bertus. I may have missed it but it seemed that those meters were electrically powered where the contact only meter may have a different name that I could look up. Oddly I have a tuning fork that has electric coils on both forks no idea what it does....colum

    Analog frequency meter

Hi poor mystic. The tuning fork analogy is interesting so in that case the signal is transmitted to the motor body by the rotating rotor and the vibrations of the heavy rotor is sensed by the meter. I wonder what the official name of this meter is. I don't think I have a motor fast enough to do...
