    555 HV FB

Hero999 I have got it this far, please see attached, Any suggestions on this, Can the OPTO be turned on more gradually (or is it only on/of like shown), it will allow for a faster charge to get to 550v in 4.7 msec needed, but then it needs to flatten out faster and not still rise on the out...

    555 HV FB

I have looked at LT3751 chip designed to do this fly-back circuit, the data sheet circuit is running nice in LT spice, but I could not get a bread-board or a fully built pcb version to work, (lease see attached) So KISS is the next step using a 555 timer. Thanks Virus

    555 HV FB

Hi Guys I need a circuit that can charge (1 or 2) - 2.2uF cap(s) to 550v in ±4.7m sec. I do need the pri and sec grounds to be isolated. This circuit does a good job ( according to LT Spice) please see attached, but I need to replace Q2 with an OPTO to get the isolation as needed and would...

    Proteus Help needed

Hi Guys I have downloaded the IR2110 model from IR's site - http://www.irf.com/product-info/models/sim/index.html How do I get the IR2110 model into Proteus, to simulate a circuit. Can you refer me to a tutorial or pdf, that can assist me in this. Thanks Theunis

    Some transformer advice/help required

Hero999 With the diodes I took a wild guess, about the retarding the timing- I am totally in the dark, you will need to point me in a direction please. With timer you maybe mean a 555 chip. Please Theunis

    Some transformer advice/help required

Hero999 I know you are not a mechanic you are a Electronics god, that is why I asked the question, I mean can it be retarded/delayed electronically even made adjustable and how, one will still have the normal/mechanical advance and retard, but there should be a way to retard the timing every...

    Some transformer advice/help required

Thank you Hero999 I will be at it this weekend, and see how far it will go, If I need to retard the ignition pulse/timing a little, which would be the best way to do it. It was mentioned that the CDI could advance the timing because of the fast discharge? Thank you Theunis

    Some transformer advice/help required

Hi Hero 999 Please be patient with me I am a rookie at this  ;) For all intensive purposes you can then charge multiple caps as long as the supply is capable delivering ? Thank you for the feedback Theunis

    Some transformer advice/help required

Hero999 Ok. that would help. can I ask you for a diagram, I need to see how to connect the diodes, hand drawn will be just fine, if it's not to much trouble. Thank you Theunis

    Some transformer advice/help required

Hi Hero999 Attached 2 x jpg's, 1st the original schematic (I have changed the number of turns on the transformer Primary = 13 turns and Secondary = 360 turns), 2nd jpg (simplified circuit) is what I have in mind, I did think that it should be possible to charge the caps using diodes but no...

    Some transformer advice/help required

Hero999 Thanks for your response, I need the caps to be isolated from each other, with common negative after each has been rectified, as each cap will be discharged separately,  I did wind the secondary 2 wires is parallel simultaneously, but the transformer seems to heat up fast, and wonder...

    Some transformer advice/help required

Hi guys/galls Would appreciate some advice.  ;D I intend to build a cdi circuit for my car, but with a slight difference and need some advice on a modification on the transformer. I need to charge 2 x 1 uF caps at the same time, normally the transformer would be 1 primary and 1 secondary...

Help with PWM - SG3524N pinout

Hi Guys This is what I have figured out from the datasheet so far, also must some of the other pins not used be tied to ground or positive rail. Please correct me here. Virus

Help with PWM - SG3524N pinout

Hi Guys Long time no post ! Attached a schematic from a patent that I want to build, can anyone please help me with the pin numbers on the PWM - SG3524N chip for the corresponding connections to the chip as shown, before I start making a PC-board. ??? Thanks Virus ;D

Hi I realized that D2 was at the wrong place, I have redrawn the circuit and it should work now as attached, can you please confirm the component values, (I will replace the Triac as it is probably fried,) Now back to the first questions in this post, Question : What resistor values must I use...

    Some brain draining needed, thanks

Hero999 I think because of the high currents is the reason why the circuit was designed with the triac and scr doing all the work ? The coil resistance is 0.6 ohm. How can I limit the charging current in the circuit? Virus ;D

Hi Hero999 Yep I see now, would this circuit work beter ? What about the value of R1 for the led and protection diode for the back emf on C1. Any other suggestions that might help? Thanks, much appreciated! Virus ;D Mag_240v.PDF
