    mini christmas lights

I have a set of 2.5 volt tree lights with a few bulbs burnt out. I have replaced several and have some working but some refuse to co-operate. The sockets have been tested at 2.2 volts, the bulbs will light when 2.4 volts is supplied directly to them and when I connect the bulb leads directly to...

    Thermistor Temperature Sensor

An interesting note is a feature of the controller is CA:Calibrate temperature reading.Range from -9 to 9.Default:0 For example ,when reading on the controller is 3 degree below real temperature, please set CA= 3. When reading on the controller is 3 degree above real temperature, please set CA=-...

    Thermistor Temperature Sensor

I have a temperature control that reads one degree lower than the trigger temperature setting and I'm wondering if there is a method to have the sensor adjustable to calibrate it to the control? If the trigger is set at 15C it doesn't trigger until it reaches 14C. Does the one meter of wire add...

    Defective PCB/scroll saw

solder suck and wick up the middle left terminal of the OI such the the connection to the top left transistors collector is opened up. Opened the middle left pin on the Ol and the motor pin still has voltage, slightly increased after desoldering 15 volts to 65 volts from 50vac. The bridge...

    Defective PCB/scroll saw

Just on my way out the door for the day but I'll get back at this later tonight and tomorrow. Also, can you identify the "orange" dee-vice, being just to the left of the top corners 4 resistors ? That would be a 3 pin connector, I can't tell you what it connects to because the saw isn't here...

    Defective PCB/scroll saw

I powered it up and I have 120volts from the triac and everything along the red and violet dotted lines remain a constant 5.1 volts over to the optocoupler, if that's what it is. There is no change in voltage when turning the switch.

I looked at the soldering with 30X magnification and everything looks good.

    Defective PCB/scroll saw

If that is a 16 pin optocoupler I won't be able to identify it as the stuff they put over it looks and grinds like JB weld. Are there several variations of the 16 pin optocoupler?

    Defective PCB/scroll saw

Looks like you might be able to provide us the ID on the run of the mill Eye Cee within the PINK outline. 324E amplifier My small right YELLOW boxed component will probably be an Opo-to-trif-o-cal Isolater-er-er, if you can dig thru all the pookie on its top. Heavily pookied but I'll see what I...

    Defective PCB/scroll saw

Hi guys, I have scroll saw that had variable speed now it only operates on high rpm. The switch is ok. Is there something specific I should be looking at testing on the board? I checked the triac and it's good. Thanks. Kevin.

Should a 555 timer ever get hot?

It doesn't like that either. Still getting hot and not killing the led.

Should a 555 timer ever get hot?

I should have mentioned that I omitted the bottom led just to see if I could get one to work but everything else in the circuit is the same. The light comes on at 3 volts but the LDR can't control it and it stays on. The 555 was getting quite hot and I've never used one before so I don't know...
