    It does not use a relay it uses a PTC for start as does all newer fridges as they use R600A (LPG) gas, so relays are not alowed in there build.

    It will depend on the Compressor, I got lucky with this Sanyo fridge compressor. It would not start with a 300W inverter, but by adding a start capacitor it would start easily. Its really a try it & see.

    The coil in your picture is the same as mine & its not driven by the fly wheel, its driven by the electronics which is only fed by 12V AC, not high enough for CDI. Puled one apart & drew out the part that drives the coil & its a switching transistor.

    A basic system would be use a Bosch ADY17 ignition module, which is designed to be triggered with a reluctor. The trigger coil may actualy trigger the Bosch module. Its some thing i would try if my Kipor gen module failed.

    If the ignition module is like this, then its not a CDI its Transistor swiching Ignition. It also has a micro chip in it & its well sealed in epoy resin.
