    The panel he is using is obviously 18.2V open circuit, which a lot are. You could use a heap of cigarette lighter type of 5V usb units, they are cheap & are switching type also handle 12V to 24 V dc input.

    I did build this unit from Ebay & powered it from an inverter generator that had a failed inverter. Due to loss of control of engine RPM the input voltage rose too high & the MOSFETs failed. I then shelved the project.

    If you are in America then the generator feeds 3 phase around 250V ac to the inverter. There is also a 12V ac feed for the electronics in the inverter module. The inverter also drives the stepper motor on the carby to control the engine speed.

    Here in Australia the Short protection diode is available with the HV diode as a pair. But the oven should work fine with out it. Have shown a circuit of an oven that doesn't use the short protector.

    It is a short protection diode, & its not always used in a microwave circuit. The oven should work fine with it removed. If it doesn't then there is another problem. Do not use the diode you purchased in that position.

    The 1 ohm resistor is being used as a fuse &it has obviously burnt out. The other resistors & capacitor are interference supressors.

    Heres 2 Briggs Magnetron Ign coils, one has the module built in the other is added to the side of the coil. I did dismantle one to see what type of transistor it had in it.

    The bottom 2 pictures are of a Briggs & Stratton ignition system. Theres a primary & a secondary winding in that coil with an electronic module built in. The Kill switch again shorts out the primary winding to stop the engine.

    I would not be keen to use that Wind/Solar MPPT unit. Your altenator is capable of supplying more current than that unit is capable of, & its not designed for use with vehicle altenators. Also the Wind side of that unit uses that large resistor as a Load dump. Not exactly what the vehicle...
