    transistor pairing? or not?

hey guys, so back to my amplifier project, do i need to pair the two mosfets on the output level? i do realize there is a gain control resistor i was wondering if i could tune that instead of buying paired transistors.

    120v dc power supply

i have been busy, sorry for the late reply. did the datasheet say it needs a split supply? i didn't notice. i know the maximum operating voltage is 100 volts. How many volts should i use? I heard my dad say that the higher the voltage, the more likely it will sound better, because of better...

    120v dc power supply

Can you suggest some linear regulators that i could use for my power supply? I am using the chip LM 4702 as my mosfet for an amplifier. thank you for the warning at the bottom, i fully understand the dangers of 120v wall power.

    120v dc power supply

how can i make a 120v dc power supply for hi fi audio (super flat signal) without the need of a super large regulator or capacitor? (the capacitor would have to be 27000 uf @ 160v) any help appreciated thanks

the back should have a line out, if it is a proper receiver unit. use a flashlight and search around.

    Rolling your own capacitors?

*eidt i only need it 27,000uf, and 150 volts

    Rolling your own capacitors?

hey guys, i know this question is very unfeasable, but can you roll your own capacitors? i need a very large capacitor, a couple farads big, and up to around 150 volts. is it possible?

    reducing 5V to 4v or 4.2v MAX

i'd use a linear regulator, like LM317, that one should fit your needs, it is capable of 1.75v - 30v. i don't know hows the accuracy on that you'll have to check the datasheet. good luck on your project!

    active usb cables?

cat 5 or lan has a huge distance, schools, offices and all sorts of places use them. i'll probably just use soldering hacks and yolo the tx and rx, while providing a power source, since i don't want to spend too much money. thanks for the replys guys

    active usb cables?

i found lots of websites though that said that it will work, like tom's hardware: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/363050-28-cat5-webcam i don't know if they are wrong but technically usb is only a digital signal, so as long as the wire isn't too shabby i don't see why it would work, the 5 volt...

    newbie question

you could use a regulator, although that would be highly inefficient since you are trying to get rid of like 8 volts. you could use a voltage divider, then regulate that. that should work. good luck!

    active usb cables?

here is my research, can be used for later reference: http://www.instructables.com/id/Usb-Dongles-for-USB-over-CAT5-connection/ so apparently a cat5 cable is a high signal-low loss cable, so i can just connect my usb over the ethernet cable.

    active usb cables?

hey guys, so i wanted to do a project that involved connecting a usb device to my home theater pc that draws significant power (>300ma). I want to be seated on my couch, and have freedom of movement while the cable is not lying in the middle of the room, so i need at least 50ft of usb cable...

    LED strips not lighting up

harbor freight tools has really cheap multi-meters ($5), they aren't that accurate, but works good enough to measure simple voltage.

Light Bulbs in the house keep Burning Out

that sounds like its flickering, that happens with automotive applicants. the power is disconnecting and connecting. a regulator should be a fix it.

    disconnect switches

In a way :). its just to make sure the engine doesn't start. I cannot open the flywheel to access the primary coil, so unfortunately, i have to ground out the secondary. i'm thinking of a large resistor or something similar should work. The tool rent at home depot uses my method to ground out...

    disconnect switches

Its a kill switch for an engine so it doesn't start up for any reason, not really to stop the engine except in emergency situations. basically what i'm doing is grounding the spark plug signal using a switch and a resistor.

    disconnect switches

hey guys, do you know if a disconnect switch will isolate electricity enough that the two contact points are far enough away so that a 16000 volt spark won't jump across it? will a knife switch work?
