Using ohms law to calculate how many devices can be used with power supply

Since you are going to control Each LED package independently for colour mixing, they are all going to be with their current controllers Across the 12 V supply - Not in Series. " ....Someone told me that i should be doing it differently- by using the amps drawn- i.e. each channel (there are 4...

5v, 9v, 12v secondary side Power supply Board

Sorry Olamide, I'm not an expert on SMPS design. There will be other members who can guide you, especially on the Transformer details. There should not be any need for Analog voltage regulators when you are designing a Switched Mode Supply Unit. The design of the transformer should take care...

    Denon power supply transistors

The circuit looks like a "Power Switch" TR 844 and TR 843, controlled by the Logic voltage on base of TR841. TR 844 and TR 843 should be in Cutoff or Saturated mode, and hence there should be no Power Dissipation, and hence no need for a heat sink. Looks like that for some reason, these...

5v, 9v, 12v secondary side Power supply Board

Hello Olamide, I find a lot of errors in the schematic, like: - the transformer secondaries are shorted. - the full wave rectifiers are being wired up as half wave rectifiers. - the schematic is incomplete - . . . . If you are trying to draw a schematic from an existing PCB, you will have to...

    Triac Based Inverter

It's a phase angle power control without hysteresis. For an explanation, Refer Page 4 of http://www.littelfuse.com/~/media/electronics/application_notes/switching_thyristors/littelfuse_thyristor_phase_control_using_thyristors_application_note.pdf.pdf Incidentally, schematics can be drawn that...

    Fixing an induction stove

An Induction stove is a really hi tech stuff not to be handled by amateurs. One component that fails for sure is the IGBT in series with the induction coil. The failure could be because of overheating (insufficient cooling) or the result of a chain of failures of other components - diodes...

new 4 pole 3.5 mm jack plug, old cable

A small correction. Sleeve is Ground, but Ring 2 is Right Ear and Ring 1 Left Ear. The Tip is Mic (plus "Answer" control). Proof: Plug in a normal 3.5 mm earphones to a Phone or Ipad and it will work perfectly. The plug with 2 rings is Longer than one with a single ring.

alba CX540XI/s BOOMBOX BLEW IC CHIP

That IC (KT2206) is gone. Take it out. Then power on the unit. If the lamps and motors work ( check the cassettee unit - rewind / f forward ) replace the IC. My gut feeling is that it should work. The IC would have sacrificed itself and protected the remaining

No Color. Black and White Picture

I'm not debating the points raised by Thirantha or davenn or Kris. All I mentioned was my (and others') experience. Back in the early 80's when colour TV was introduced here, there were quite a few times when such problems were noticed. In many such cases, the solution was to replace the picture...

No Color. Black and White Picture

Yep, missed post #4. But it is my experience that the grid mesh of the 3 colour guns (ok, may not be colour control grids) fuse and the colour tube behaves like a monochrome one. The tube displays a B&W picture with just 1 colour gun (cathode) in operation. Post #4 confirms that this is not the...

No Color. Black and White Picture

Your picture tube is bust. Technically speaking, the "control grids" of the 3 guns have fused and the colour guns have lost their independent control. Replacement of the picture tube is the solution.

    Help me finding capacitor

I was referring to the capacitor value - 10μF, not ESR. Normally, Ceramic capacitors have values less than 0.5μF, though I have seen here and there a 1.0μF too. But not a 10μF.
