    Thanks. Yeah, I should have made note of the term "MAINTAINer". But I did notice in fact it did increase the voltage like point 2 over an hour. So it does work. Perhaps a larger one or two would do the trick for me...

    I see what you did there. It's a pair of wires with alligator clips on one end and a barrel connector on the other. Why can't I repurpose this thing for my specific needs? That little solar charger pad that it came with proved to be useless and I want to connect my regular battery charger...

    There's nothing else to see. And I guess the plug polarity is switched because I have the alligator clips switched. I think I'll just splice together a polarity switch/adapter

    If input the clips on their respective terminals it won't work. And the positive part of this configuration on the barrel connector is on the outside. Not sure what they usually are.     No, it's not a remote switch. It's a socket for this proprietary plug/connector that then alligator clips to another vehicle's battery. I want to take that out of the whole equation.
