Thanks guys for all the info. Bertus_loved that link. Placed it on my iPad homepage.

    Radio Daze

I have always like radios. Even though many of them have given way to other things (like the internet), I wonder if there is still a place for radios. So, I have several observations and questions: In the old days, I used to love to listen to police scanners. I had a base unit and hand held...

    A Little Delayed in Starting

Thanks AG. As an update- I am still building this thing. I've just gotten tied up with other things. But I'll be back to it and will report in.

    A Little Delayed in Starting

I am just sticking to the basic design for now. Bertus- yes, I saw that and went back and looked at the data sheet, and did not find it. Thus, I though I imagine dit. Meanwhile, it was on the other site. Thanks for reminding me.

    A Little Delayed in Starting

I am simply following the diagram/schematic I referenced. I am at the stage where I am connecting pins 16-9 on the right side of the chip. I have a question: There are certain connections that go to an analogue ground and others go top a digital ground. I usually set up a row of pins that...

Need Help on Cord repair...How can this be?

Thanks to all for the warnings; especially BlueJets. I have opted to buy a new cord that I found online.

I rebooked at the schematic. I don't think the order of the connections matters. That was going to be my working assumption.

    A Little Delayed in Starting

I sort of had a n idea as to their role, but the article made it clearer. However, my question is about whether the positive leads from both capacitors can be connected to the 5v pin at thr same time, ofr whether they need to be done in a certain. order (ie:the positive leads from the 0.1uF cap...

Need Help on Cord repair...How can this be?

What I don't understand is if there are 8 cores, is it because they have this special coating that they can be bunched together without interfering with each other?

Need Help on Cord repair...How can this be?

The cord is 40 feet or so. About 10 of it goes in the pool. I cut it at the opposite end. There is about 20 feet that will never be near water. so this type of wire only has one lead? I would prefer to buy a new cord altogether but this item is no longer made

Need Help on Cord repair...How can this be?

I have a robotic cleaner that crawls along the bottom of a pool to clean it. Suddenly it stopped working. I took it apart and I applied 24 volts (whicnbnis what it runs. on), directly to the motor. The motor began work g. This means that there is a short in the long rubber like cord that...

    A Little Delayed in Starting

I have another question, and it is important for me to understand- although it may sound simple. Attached is a pic of the circuit we are building. You will note that I labeled (in pen), parts of the circuit with 1. 2. 3. and 4. Here is my question: On my PCB build, I have a Pin that I...

    A Little Delayed in Starting

Naive question: Can't we just use a step down resistor to lower 6 volts from batteries, to 5 volts?

this guy seems to suggest that it will not work if built according to data sheet, but I have to think he’s wrong.

    A Little Delayed in Starting

I would like to build this first and get it to work using the 5v from my variable supply, rather than get another chip right off the bat.

    A Little Delayed in Starting

Hmm..my first question- this circuit seems to be powered by 5v. How do I achieve that if it is to be powered via a battery? It would be impractical to power it with a variable power supply.
