    Heater Repair

No...the heat from the soldering will more than likely exceed the temperature of the device and will destroy the new unit.

    Heater Repair

Replacements are available and not expensive. Number on the side should be relative to temperature cut off required. To replace, cut out faulty unit leaving as much of the existing tails as possible. Then use the tunnel and screws from a small terminal block (remove from insulated casing) to...

    Minimum Voltage For Capacitors

It's likely the so called 4.5v is not quite up to scratch. Think you'll find a standard 555 is 4.5v minimum and you could be right on the no-go level. If you want low voltage operation of the 555 go to the cmos version. Be aware they are static vunerable though. Show your circuit and named...

    Issue with dell P2219H

Looks like a scan problem in the monitor itself, doubtful if it's related to any cables etc. Good knowledge of the workings of the monitor and experience with electronics would be essential to diagnose the failure point. Cheaper these days to bin it and get a new one.

In desperation! Roland E600 startup fault.

Could be that the power section is doing what it was designed to do...i.e. shut down under fault condition like perhaps a shorted component.

Yamaha TSR-5810 No Power, No Standby Light, No Relay Click

+1.......... Smps can be tricky for experienced people to fix, newcomers almost impossible as they do not take the time to find out how they work. A good start is to test caps...then any diodes in the area, then suspect the switcher ic.

Help converting lathe from 110v to 220v?

Rather confusing as the ceramic block markings do not match the connection diagram. I'd be inclined to think the left top and right top are for clockwise or anti-clockwise rotation on 110v and same for the bottom on 220v. Best would be contact the supplier and get a clearer documentation on...

Common Emitter Amplifier - and Diagnosing Problems with an Oscilloscope

You cannot use a breadboard and it's layout and expect to get noise free output. Nil input shielding adds to the dilemma.

2 buttons 2 power supplies, how to trigger one from the other?

I'd say you've answered your own question. However, if you want it to stay on, you'll need to latch it either with a flip flop or a relay.

Common Emitter Amplifier - and Diagnosing Problems with an Oscilloscope

You have no negative supply........it arrives at the breadboard from the Uno but goes no further.
