Circuit not charging when the battery is below a certain voltage

There were a couple of chargers recommended in another post just recently....... https://www.electronicspoint.com/threads/charging-a-phone-battery.289749/#post-1776270

    Voltmeter ideas

No, you got it right. Had a quick look for vu meters yesterday and these days they seem a bit scarce......I'll keep looking as it seems the best alternative....thanks all

    Voltmeter ideas

Before Arduino back in 2004, mate of mine was building a 4 cylinder engine for his scale loco and I built him a water temperature gauge with over-temp alarm. Unit has an isolated analog voltmeter as the readout and all worked out fine. From memory I made the meter up from a VU meter but can't...

Sourcing a horizontal rotary encoder supplier.

Being a smart charger, it would incorporate a microcontroller and use the tactile switch as an input. What this input actually does would be determined by the software written therein.

A few questions on small dual battery solar

It depends on what is conceived as " boiling". It is quite normal to have hich gas discharge at high rates of charge.

A few questions on small dual battery solar

Be aware that deep cycle also have limitations. Best to look up and learn on the battery university site. https://batteryuniversity.com/

    Charging a phone battery

Arrow terminal appears to be the bti , other 2 are marked on top. However, correct charger must be used not just everyday power supply. As others say, charge it in the phone. Appears to be a cheap one on Ebay...

DMM allows current to pass but measures 0 mA

You might have blown the internal fuse. According to the manual page 41, it's the blue button that selects differing operations on each selector position. Also if you've been pushing the yellow, that's for data hold. Quite a complex meter for anyone who is not familiar with software...

I'd say because you don't read what it written.

Car ECU think I found the fault?

This is RS Components Aus, should be similar at Mouser or whatever. Another one I normally use,......... on Ebay https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Circuit-Board-Lacquer-Spray-Can/253402300297?epid=904109565&hash=item3afff43f89:g:vwgAAOSwpnhbe2o8:sc:AU_StandardDelivery!4670!AU!-1

That's dc .....op showed a corded drill

Drills such as shown have the motor and the gearbox components held in place by the casing. No such thing as simply pulling out the motor to use elsewhere.

    555 timer for a fan

Yes well, I'm no expert, plenty here are though. From what you show in the link most say, won't work. Why don't you simply use a cmos version of the 555..... ???? Have to be super carful with static until it's in circuit but......... drag out a spec sheet and see.

    15W Laser Diode

Be aware that there are some pretty strict laws in Australia regarding lasers and their use. Penalties can be rather high. Most I read about cover up to 1mW and you are playing with 15W............ I think you may find it's a bit like firearms and actually covered under the same laws. i.e...

    555 timer for a fan

Problem with what you are trying to do is you need power on the 555 to make the trigger work. There may be a settling time for the initiate of the 555 also. A microcontroller on the other hand can be put to sleep where it draws very little current but you need to know how to program it. Not...

Car ECU think I found the fault?

Symbol is for a zener diode but either way, difficult to test in circuit as there could be other components giving a false reading.

Leave it as is and simply rig up a screw clamp around the trigger and the handle.

    Idiot with coffee fetish

That already has speed control in the trigger. Mains speed control of these motors is via thyristor and phase control. PWM is for dc battery motors etc.
