Extend range on a RF remote control

Yes that’s my point; improving the antenna by fitting one! Adding an amplifier would of course help but it will also complicate the circuit and consume more energy from the battery. An example: if I attach a only a short piece of wire to the output socket of my RF signal generator the signal can...

    Transformer replacement

Hi Eric, Welcome to our forum. The caps should have a voltage rating higher than the voltage without load.

A linear or switching voltage regulator that can handle 10amp+

Hi crodan, Welcome to our forum. Here are a few circuits that might work if slightly modified: http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/power/028/index.html http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/power/027/index.html http://www.electronics-lab.com/projects/power/009/index.html I hope at...

    Charging a Capacitor

Hi Chase, Yes you can, but it might be dangerous to some persons for different reasons like age and medical history. A capacitor can deliver high current and only the victim’s resistance decides the effect (damage) it will cause. Use static voltage instead; it is safer to play with!

Extend range on a RF remote control

I don’t know anything about your specific remote but the first (and easiest) thing you could try is to improve the antenna.

    6 or 7KW Inverter Needed

Hi renaldo, A 4kW inverter will draw something like 400A from your 12V battery. A big starter battery for a diesel pickup can supply 400A for a few seconds but the voltage at this current will drop to about 10.5V this will raise the current to 460A. I recommend using a higher voltage like 24 or...

    American DJ Pocket Scan

Hi Gnarles, I have to tell you; I don’t know anything about these gizmos! However a schematic could shed some light over it and attract more members to try to help you. The first thing I would check is the power supply and its connections for glitches since you have sudden “restarts” and resets! ;)

    American DJ Pocket Scan

Hi Gnarles, Welcome to our forum, You say anything “but” a schematic; does this mean you got a schematic? If you got it, post it and tell us what’s wrong. Someone here might help you figure out what to do. ;)

    Windshield Washer Fluid Heater

Hi Audioguru, The computer does not show how much is left but gives a warning when about 2 liters remains. My car uses the same tank for windscreen and the headlamp cleaning and both runs from the same impulse. I fill the tank once a week at this time of the year; I drive about 450 km every...

    Windshield Washer Fluid Heater

Hi Audioguru, One hour! :o  I didn’t mean a firehose just a normal washer hose with 4 mm i.d.! :D About 15s or so unless you have a Ford or the old kind of rubber bladder on the floor. ;D Don’t let it run dry; just fill it up when the computer display tells you to.
