    DC Motors

Hi, Try using only one LM317 and a “by pass” power transistor instead of paralleling if you are going to control the motors by voltage. However changing the voltage is not the best way to control motors, PWM is a better way. ;)

I discarded the link for this site, obviously not a relevant place to find a serious project! >:( Thanks again Guys for your inputs! ;)

I haven’t noticed any problems whatsoever!? However the last 36 hours the activity has been very low (very few members have been active)!

    Transformer Power Rating

Hi Guys, The newer package (SOT-93) has a better ability to dispose heat than the older (TO-218). At least that’s how it seems! These two packages are very similar to look at but internally the “chip” has probably a better thermal contact to the metal tab. :)

    Power Supply.

Thanks for your inputs guys! I will tell my friend it’s a joke like I suspected and he must look for another project. His uncle is a HAM guy and wanted at least 50A so first I told him to get a car battery and a small charger but he didn’t like to have acid in his house. Perhaps it is cheaper to...

    Hey Ante

Hi Staigen, I am sorry but I don’t have a suitable scanner for books, I can always scan a page or two but a complete book isn’t easy. You have to bend the book open and press it against the glass to have the pages flat out on the surface or it’s no good.  This handling of a book often cracks...

    I CAN'T READ THEM

I was worried there for a while, not any more! ;D Still I think you should take a picture of your lab and post it here. Maybe your lab isn’t that messy after all when starting to compare with others! You might even sleep better knowing that someone else got a bigger disaster on the workbench! ;D

    Power Supply.

Hi all, I found a PSU project here: http://www.qsl.net/yo5ofh/projects/ham%20radio%20projects.htm The 13.8V 65A project link shows the circuit. And I was wondering if you can pull 13.8V @ 65A form an 18V 45A transformer? And if so how to dispose of >750 W of heat generated in the five TIP...

    I CAN'T READ THEM

Excuses, excuses, now I have heard them all! Does this mean you are going to shut up,.. I mean shut down or just running at a lower speed? ;D ;D BTW, I am sure your son will let you use the camera one last time for a good purpose like this! ;)

    Hey Ante

Hi Doc, I'm glad to hear but, I suggest you make a backup on a DVD in case something (Murphy's law  :o ) goes wrong so you don’t have to download it all again!  ;D

    Hey Ante

Hi Staigen, I am very pleased to know that some of the books come in handy! I had the TTL Cookbook back in the seventies but lost it along the way somewhere quite a few years back! Unfortunately I haven’t seen any e-format versions of any of Don Lancaster’s books yet. So join the club so to...
