Choosing the right current sensing resistor.

The L620 has a sense pin which is the bottom of the H-bridge, a low value resistor is normally connected to this and common and the volt drop monitored for any overcurrent. Typically use 0.5ohms. Although I see the L620 has a sense pin for setting the current? The likes of the L297 monitor this...

Choosing the right current sensing resistor.

Generally the resistor is in the common return for the H bridge , in many application this is 0.5ohms or less. The dual comparator in the L297 detects this voltage, and controls the output accordingly. Typically there is a sense level pot on vref pin of L297 to set the OC point. The L297 has the...

    help with IR2110 chips

That wasn't my point,, I would assume that the original purpose of the TFMR was to be mains operated on 115/230 , which if so, make the 115-0-115 the (original) PRIMARY.

Are you sure you don't have that backwards? "primary side is 55-0-55 and will be in parallel, the secondary is 115-0-115 and is connected at the centre tap" ? Typically that is the reverse (Primary/Secondary}. so that you can connect to 120 or 240 supply. (115-0-115)

Learning Electronics for Everyday Practical Reasons Non-Professional

Appliances are getting a little more involved to trouble shoot, often it is a case of reverting to changing out a circuit board. For e.g. Most modern washing M/C's now use the Fischer-Paykel outrunner BLDC motor, this eliminates the gearbox, so none of the old style induction motor-simple...

    Lowering AC Motor RPM's

The L298 is totally unsuitable for AC (mains powered) motors, which is what the OP appears to be using. Also the L298 is only a DC H-bridge low voltage controller.
