    Old School House Wiring

Quite common for very old homes, also you will see 'Knob and Tube' style wiring. A Braided fabric was used for insulation. https://inspectapedia.com/electric/Old_Electrical_Wiring.php M.

    elvi motor help

If it has brushes then it would appear to be DC, you can back-drive it and see if it generates a DC voltage, if it does, and if you have the RPM on the motor plate then you can extrapolate the necessary applied voltage by using a typical figure of 2000rpm max, and what the voltage would be for...

    RS232 - RS422 CONVERTER

Odd? I just entered RS232 RS485 in my search and it is at the top. I guess RS485 makes the difference.;) M.

    RS232 - RS422 CONVERTER

All you need to do is go to Any ebay listing and substitute the 12 digit number with the the one in the listing URL and delete everything after it. I use these for equipment that has RS485 modbus inputs from my laptop COM port. M.

    Interface microprocessor with microcontroller

Micro-processor and micro-controller are usually considered synonymous. Most current one's available have some form of communication module built in, USART, I2c etc. What are the numbers of the ones you are using? At one time there used to be LSI USART IC's available. M.

    Trans former rewind

I doubt if the original was constructed that tight, to exactly the AWG for 500ma! You should be able to calculate the max current based on both the Va and the Actual gauge of the secondary. M.

    Trans former rewind

I have lost track of the number of transformers I have either rewound or added/removed secondary winding's and to me the Toroidal type is by far easier to add/subtract a secondary. It appears to me that the OP just needs to remove 2/3 of the secondary? At around a typical 2 to 3 turns /volt, I...

Question about 16x2 LCD Displays failing.

As noted, for a $1.50 you can afford to change one and see, There are many configurations for the terminations so ensure it is the same bottom left format. The design is usually universal now based on the Hitachi HD44780 IC. M.

Question about 16x2 LCD Displays failing.

If there have been consistent failures it might pay to remove one display and test it. If you have no electronic way, the LCD guide by Julyan Ilett shows how to connect with simple switches to test. Test the +vdc to the unit for correct voltage. M.

Control Speed of AC Induction motor with DAC

What is the nature of the AC motor? HP? shaded pole? PSC (permanent start cap) or cap-start cap-run? Some 1ph motors do not control well, they drop out of run when loaded or reduced to low rpm. M.

Broken Y terminal on furnace circuit board

There are a couple of recourses, it should be easy to remove the broken thread by using a small drill and a easy-out bit to remove it, as a last resort a nut could be used on the bottom if spaces allows if the thread has been damaged, The terminal strip is also available but this would mean a...

Reading 5V on a neutral wire? Hot wire going to ceiling fixture first.

There should be no conductor connected to the metal box except the Earth GND. If the neutral is being switched instead of the live conductor this smacks of a possible mis-wiring or original amateur type installation. If you are getting a reading from earth to neutral, I would see if it supports...

PIC16F1939 High to low edge detection

What input are you using? Many PORTB I/O are schmitt trigger input. Any reason for not using the 18F pic equivalent as the instruction set and I/O is quite a bit of a step up IMO. M.

Wiring for a emergency stop switch

The bottom E-stop appears to be a push stop-turn release, so conceivably you could just use this one only if it is capable of carrying the table saw current but generally limited to 5a or so.. M.

Wiring for a emergency stop switch

Are they all momentary or is any one maintained? Typically that P.B. station is used in conjunction with a relay or two, particularly if they are all momentary type. In the case of just one simple tool just two buttons are needed, start/stop. I could not load the diagram book due to file size...
