    It will be sinking the 100k resistor, the output is open collector NPN, I would not expect the cap to have any significant charge when the Prox is switching. Will see what I can do today to mock it up if time prevails. M.

    Yes, the OP was already told this another forum. I prefer to use the more rugged Linear supply for spindle use, IMO regulated is not really needed. M.

    As long as mechanically there is no reason why you cannot run in reverse then polarity should not matter, but in a installation blue would be common or -ve. A visual inspection of the brushes/connections should bring some enlightenment. M.

    A common 2 sp wiper motor has three leads common, hi sp & low sp, the low speed is an offset brush on the commutator. So one or the other is energised, not both. M.

    Actually there is a copy of MS-DOS 7.1 ISO out there still I believe, IIRC someone had stripped it from WIN98 or XP. It has the extra features such as long file names etc. I install it on some PC's I have using some Acronis S/W that allows a choice of different operating systems to load at boot...

    Have you looked at Kicad? , Free and supported by Cern. The earlier build will run on XP, latest build is for Win7/10. Plenty of supplied manuals and 3rd party tutorials out there. M.

    On a side note, although that particular relay may not have it, if you obtain a replacement that has a sealed vent hole (and many do), it is important to open the vent once soldered in. See PDF. M.

    Incidentally, the 3 phase motor can be driven by a 1ph supply to the VFD, usually up to around 5hp. M.

    Depends on the type of AC motor, single phase induction motors do not control well, with the exception of small fans or motors that are shaded pole type, i.e. no capacitor. For these a Triac Dimmer style will work. 3 phase motor do control well however with the aid of a VFD etc. M.
