    For thin panels I use a Greenlee DB25 punch that is basically intended for external fitting. For thicker one's I machine the panel and still mount on the outside on my panels, saves problems with mating shells. M.

    I don't really understand the question, whether mounting the DB25 on the outside, (the obvious choice) or on the inside how is the wire connection a problem? I can see a conn mounted on the inside being a problem for the mating connector, but this goes to my first indication of mounting. M.

    Appears to be a UK style socket, IIRC (3) is live (1) is neutral and (2) is Earth. You can confirm this by taking a voltage reading between 3 and the other 2, for 240v. (or whatever voltage it is in India). M.

    A linear supply is unregulated the one you show is SMPS, Switch mode. Linear is usually a simple transformer, bridge and capacitor. Better suited to motor function. M.

    I agree, Jameco is pretty good, the one thing you have to watch is the type of end connector and the polarity, Usually +ve is the centre, but some are oddball and use centre for -ve. M.
