Help identifying glass diode without markings (parallel to relay)

As already covered, these diodes are not generally critical, they come into play at turn off time of the relay, in order to suppress high voltage BEMF which can cause problems when used in low voltage/logic level equipment. M.

Help identifying glass diode without markings (parallel to relay)

I usually keep 1n4007's on hand for this use if through hole mounting, if it is small size and a low power coil then 1n4146 gen purpose. Not critical for BEMF diodes. M.

I have a broken linear encoder that I want to repair...

I didn't say that, just that apart from any fairly obvious problems, without the proper equipment and the ability to identify particular parts, it can often be a lost cause. Most look for spare scales on ebay etc. M.

I have a broken linear encoder that I want to repair...

I think the best you could do is clean it thoroughly and check as many identified components as possible, replacing the photo det parts is going to be hit and miss as the components do not usually have any number on them. Also you will need a double beam scope to do any kind of alignment. If you...

I have a broken linear encoder that I want to repair...

Normally you would the optical reading would straddle both sides of the glass scale, one side being the TX LED's the other the P.C. receivers. The problem with working on these is to get the alignment exactly right, the two sine/cos signals have to be exactly at 90°. M.

They most certainly are the IR LED's (or could be Photo det side). M.

Interfacing with Serial Jpeg Camera rs232

Converting from USB to RS232? Wrong baud rate? Insufficient or late data response, (timing). What components other than arduino? M.

They almost appear similar to fuseable links or contact pads? Do they all measure the same continuity? M. .

    Noob building from schematic.

I did not actually see the schematic diagram, just the description on the site? The action of a flash and a shutter is a little different The SCR with conduct and stay on while the power is connected using DC. I would be interested in seeing the schematic or post a link. M.

    Noob building from schematic.

The schematic shows two TO-92 devices. Do you really need those apparent high current devices for a camera shutter? You have plenty of open room on the BB to extend or reposition any component? Also that circuit appears to be a Flash delay of some kind. M.

You can get electronic cleaner in an aerosol can from most electronic suppliers, get the non-residue type, alternatively use de-natured alcohol. M.

    Fluorescent ballast wiring help

You show US origin so the normal standard in N.A. is white neutral and black live conductor. Where did you experience the opposite? For a ballast it does not really matter, but the fitting should be earth grounded. M.

I have a broken linear encoder that I want to repair...

What make of scale/DRO is it? The two small bearings at right angles indicates this is the read head, it is imperative for both type that alignment is maintained. I don't see any optical head there, so is it possible capacitive? I have always found that they are fairly impervious to coolant etc...

I have a broken linear encoder that I want to repair...

Is that the read head itself? The part the moves over the scale? It does not appear to much in the way of electronics on it, if optical there should also be opto RX TX and a part of a grating similar to the head, Unless it is capacitive? M.
