    Need to test some fuses

As duke37 says, you need to get some more info from your customer on what the fuse is supplying. Have they checked the actual current flowing through the fuse? They may have selected the wrong size fuse. Does the fuse blow on power up or after some time? What type of fuse are they, eg glass...

Remote whose buttons need to be held down

Also use the cotton bud to clean the battery connections. Check tension between the batteries and connectors. Are you using 1.2v rechargeable batteries instead of 1.5v dry cells? Are you using good quality batteries? I assume you have tried new batteries. Try gently pressing components on the...

    wi-fi

Probably need to boost the free library wi-fi signal at its source. They must have a reasonable signal already if you can pick it up 300m away. Not sure that the library would be too pleased if they realised that they were providing free wi-fi to the whole neighbourhood though.:)

    12V Battery on a 230V/50Hz Pump

Our goldfish pond has a low voltage 12vac pump. It came with a 230vac to 12vac transformer. Brand is Pondmaster. Easy to install. Being low voltage it doesn't need the cable to be installed to meet safety regulations. Transformer is in the garage and twin core cable runs around fences to pond...

Can you measure the current through the switch? Can you buy the correct switch from Frigidaire?

    Microwave Door Switch

This is a European standard. The first number is the resistive load. The number in brackets is the inductive load. A is Amps. 16(4)A 250V = 16 Amps resistive load, 4 Amps inductive load, 250v.

    AC Compressor blowing fuse

I just keep two 1000v diodes in stock; 1N4007 for low current inductive sources, eg relays, hydraulic solenoids etc, 1N5408 for higher current inductive sources, eg aircond clutches, starter slave solenoids, etc. I always fit the diode as close to the source as possible.

    Protection diode melted and burnt

Thanks Steve. I also see that they use 100E instead of the usual 100R for R1.

    Protection diode melted and burnt

C4 has a symbol that I am not familiar with. What type of capacitor does it indicate? 1N4007's are the only diode I keep, so fitting one would be my first move.

    Automotive Switch Panel

Haven't seen any DIY touch screen switch panels in vehicles yet. I have seen some panels made up using these switches that look very good. http://www.amazon.com/Silver-Stainless-Illuminated-Latching-Pushbutton/dp/B0062P5GZG Might be a good project for someone to build with a touch screen and...
