please can someone help with a project.

The coil polarity in that diagram is reversed. "+" on coil should go to the positive supply. There is no protection for the transistor against high voltage spikes. Old style ignition coils are better for these types of projects. They have lower primary coil current because they were designed...

I have seen some weird ones. I wonder if it works the other way, ie English translated to Chinese on products for the Chinese market?

Help removing pins from ECU plug

Do you have some new terminals? Looking closely at the terminal locking tab should hopefully show you how to remove them from the connector. What is the ECU?

    Rotor test

Sounds like the rotor has failed open circuit. You should have a circuit between the two sliprings.

BOSCH reputable car battery manufacturer? then where are datasheets?

Don't even know what a "hydro-generator gas hot water system" looks like, but I have worked on hundreds, probably thousands, of Bosch starter motors. What is it that you don't like about their solenoids?

BOSCH reputable car battery manufacturer? then where are datasheets?

smilem, why do you want this information? The S4 is an automotive starting battery, so the specs listed relate to this usage, eg dimensions, terminal type and location, CCA rating, and Amp-hour rating. Are you wanting to use them for another application?

BOSCH reputable car battery manufacturer? then where are datasheets?

Sorry Colin, but I must disagree with your statement that "BOSCH stuff is very poor quality". Bosch is a huge company that make all sorts of stuff, most of which is very good quality. Many of their products are top of the range. Forty years as an automotive electrician has convinced me that...

    Loss of voltage with MOSFET

"On the battery pole/charger output, without any load, I read 14.5 V. If I connect the motor directly , the voltage drops to 12.45V, drawing 2,25 amps." This voltage drop with such a small load is a worry. What is the Gate to Source voltage? Have you tried connecting the gate directly to the...

How to switch something as soon as power is applied

You could connect the winding of a normally open relay to the start switch and the contacts to the override button. The relay closes every time you start the engine and disables the stop/start system. BUT, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO DISABLE THIS SYSTEM? As BobK said, it would be better to explain...

    Help With Correct Power Supply

"With low voltage (12v) you biggest enemy is voltage drop so use a large diameter cable, maybe 4 sq.mm (7/.085) Just be aware that automotive cabling is sized differently than the building wire size quoted above. The automotive is much smaller conductor size." Building cable doesn't need to be...

how to find out current in each resistors

I am a little confused as to how someone with 274 posts over nearly four years on this forum is unable to work out this simple series/parallel resistor circuit, and can't see the errors in the breadboard.

Heating elements for own built terranium

They would have to be connected in series. Each will run at about 120v. If you connect them in parallel each will have 240v on it. Will get very hot, very quickly, and burn out.

KS115SR hydraulic excavator (governor motor issues)

I assume this a Kobelco SK115SR excavator? Have you contacted the local Kobelco agents? I think it will have an Isuzu engine. Possibly a mechanical engine with an electronic governor/throttle control operating the injector pump lever. Isuzu may be worth a try. This is not really the ideal...

Anyone try to make a new auto battery charger "old school" ?

The auto feature is built into battery chargers to protect the charger from reverse battery connection etc. Even the best of us sometimes have a spot of brain fade and get it wrong. Also protects against turning the charger on with the terminals touching. Getting the charger to start on fully...

    Panel display for 10K pot

You could try connecting the 10K pot to a regulated 5volt DC source, eg 7805 regulator. The wiper from the pot would be the input to the display. Set the display to Volts(DC) and Range to 0-5V.
