    Unknown capacitor.

Heres the bridge on the back. Only 3v on Ac side, nothing on DC side. Just took a brief look at this last night, but I remember nearly all of the incoming120vac was dropped across this Cap and parallel 1m resistor. More pics comming.

    Unknown capacitor.

Fixing a 120v electric paper punch for a friend. I believe the problem is that square blue capacitor C2. Its the first component after the line fuse, and is parallel with a 1meg resistor. It only reads 678nf (out of ckt) and is only passing about 3v on to what I believe is a smt bridge...

    repair on Casio CTK-496 keyboard

On the underside where the rubber contacts the board there should be conductive carbon paste. (black or grey gook) Try searching for keyboard repair paste. God speed.

Not getting the required output from vfd

I would first verify that all the parameters are set specifically to your motor and its application. It's worth spending the time to know and understand these parameters. One parameter not set correctly can cause odd behavior. Also, if analog inputs are used, they can be sensitive to noise...

Hyundai HY3000sei inverter generator odd issue- looking for guidance

Yes, perhaps. Although I'd be curious if a heavy load would recreate the fault on its own without cycling the lights on off.

Hyundai HY3000sei inverter generator odd issue- looking for guidance

Sorry your having problems. I would isolate the generator from the power centre and try hooking up a heavy load such as a space heater to it. That way you'll know for sure its the generator.

Does mAh rating of a battery affect the device at the same rated voltage?

Yes, your understanding is correct. The larger mAh just means it will last longer. The current that's draw is determined by the phone load not the battery. Wither it's a 600mAh or a 800mAh battery it will still draw the same amr of current. The only potential problem I could see, is if the...

Newbie; 3 phase, 460V, 12 wire motor; what if wrong hook up?

No. Not a direct short, just one phase fighting the other two. Usually a motor miswiring would blow the overcurrent protection right away, but since this is a fire pump (protected at about 600% of motor full load current) it likely did spin with an accompanying loud humming noise. You're right...

    Help with repairing a gate

Motor is powered by building branch circuit (I assume 120v) through the conduit on the bottom. I doubt there even is a battery. Likely the gate jammed and tripped the motor overload (red button on top) or, there's a fuse for the motor that poped.

    Help with repairing a gate

Try pushing in that red thermal reset button on top of the motor, and yes call an electrician to at least fix the conduit with exposed conductors. (missing box connector fitting)

    HT echoing too much

I agree. The new window is causing the echo by allowing sound waves to bounce all around. You can buy or make baffles, or acoustic panels to absorb these errant sound waves. Its just a box like a picture frame covered with sound absorbing material. Honestly, they can look ugly, but they do...

    Timed switch for thermostat

I think I understand what you want although the second output cycle looks longer than 5min. You could wire this as I mentioned above with the override "off delay" relay and add a second retentive "on delay" timer inseries with it. If this is for a air conditioner, the 5min off condition you...

    Timed switch for thermostat

Sounds like the same thing to me. In other words, the off delay timer will stay on for 5min when its input goes off. The 5min dwell time begins on the falling edge (when switch turns off) of the input, not the rising edge (turning on)

    Timed switch for thermostat

Just buy a 24v AC "off-delay" timer so you can wire it into existing hvac circuit. Parallel the timed relay contacts with the thermostat contacts. (yellow wire for cooling and common) The thermostat will work as normal but the timer will override it for 5min (keep switch on) even after...

    New house...wired IR sensor...need help

Ok, but what's the model number so you can look up the wiring requirements? If I was to guess red is positive, black is negative (from power supply) and the drain (bare) wire is the sensor output to go back to the connector box. These wires would go to that green terminal block of the example...

    New house...wired IR sensor...need help

In my house, the emitters plug into a small control box that is powered by an ac adaptor and the wiring to the ir receiver (black wall plate thingy that you point remote control) terminates into the back of it. I suggest pulling the ir receiver out of the wall box to make note of the model...

    Question about A/C electricity

Wire colors depends on electrical codes. This varies by country and application. I see your from here in the States. In building wiring, the only mandatory colors are green, white (or grey) orange and light blue. Otherwise, they can be any color you want. If the wires are in a different...
