    If current is that low you may be able to do it with resistors, but as long as your above 12v, (12.5v min) I would recommend using a Lm7810 voltage regulator. It will give you a regulated 10v at up to about 2amps of current.

    Very Nice @kellys_eye, but what value should this pot be? I'm not familiar with the voltage output of this hall effect sensor. I'm thinking if this pots value is too low, it would drag down the return voltage regardless of the wiper position.

    I agree. Like I said the hotweels type cars dont have a variable resistor, just switches. I suspect it may be two stage (slow/fast) switch that drives a high current relay.

    Yes, that's a problem. Sounds like the pressure switch is not opening up under pressure and its deadheading (stalling) the motor. I'd investigate/contact seller if there's an adjustment screw for the pressure where this switch off limit can be lowered. If not I'd send it back.

    I agree that more needs to be known to say for sure. A few years ago I modified a hotwheels type car and there was no controller or reostat only switches to control speed. I assumed it was a similar design.

    I guess I'm obsessed too. I always unplug it if I won't be using it for several minutes or longer and alway wipe the tip off good with a damp cloth. My irons never go longer than a minute or two without being cleaned off. As far as obsessions go, its not a bad one.
