12v dc to 10v dc converter

If current is that low you may be able to do it with resistors, but as long as your above 12v, (12.5v min) I would recommend using a Lm7810 voltage regulator. It will give you a regulated 10v at up to about 2amps of current.

Help with a very simple rc circuit..

I think you need to clarify. "Current from the unit would be 10ma" Are you saying the alarm output current is limited to 10ma? Are you trying to energize the relay coil for the fuel relay with a 1 second (one shot pulse)? What are the ratings of this relay your trying to drive? "Make a 12v 1...

What type of battery is good for emergency power for blackouts?

You can buy crank flashlights, radios and even one's that will charge your cellphone like this one But what's in my mind is ww2 era military dynamos that you'd crank and it had a mainspring that would keep it operating about 3 minutes after you'd stop cranking. Perhaps you could rig...

    RC receiver failure

Thanks. I didn't bother to check the fets because the board doesn't respond as it should so I assume the u controller took a hit. Next to the crystal is a tiny red led that blinks when it's powered up and searching to lock onto the transmitter signal. When it locks, it then stops blinking...

What type of battery is good for emergency power for blackouts?

I don't know where you could find one (military surplus store?) but a guaranteed backup for low powered devices like that is an old fashioned dynamo. Basically, you turn a crank and it drives a generator to produce power. Myself, I'm a bit lazy with my auto start up standby generator that runs...

    RC receiver failure

My boys RC boat quit working earlier this summer. I found and replaced a bad/unresponsive receiver board and it worked fine for a while, until the exact same thing happened again. I then noticed a few open spots on the pcb and am thinking they omitted (to save 1c per board?) the flyback diodes...

Help repairing Samsung VHS/DVD Combo - No power

Yes, it's a good idea in order to get a reliable reading although cap ESR testing can be done in circuit. Ceramic disc caps don't fail very often if they look ok, so I wouldn't bother checking them at this point. Btw, welcome to the forum WyluliWolf

Help repairing Samsung VHS/DVD Combo - No power

I'm no expert, but I'll warn you that a Smps can be very difficult to repair due to their complexity. Also beware that dangerous high voltages are present that can knock you on your arse (or worse). I'd start by checking diodes and mosfets. You may want to pull out a component in series with...

How do I reduce the speed of a 12v childrens car

I was thinking like @73's de Edd, Jack-up the drive wheels off the ground and brace the vehicle from movement in a safe manor and take some voltage measurements of the sensor output at min, midpoint and max with the vehicle in use. From there you at least have an idea of where you want the...

How do I reduce the speed of a 12v childrens car

Very Nice @kellys_eye, but what value should this pot be? I'm not familiar with the voltage output of this hall effect sensor. I'm thinking if this pots value is too low, it would drag down the return voltage regardless of the wiper position.

How do I reduce the speed of a 12v childrens car

I agree. Like I said the hotweels type cars dont have a variable resistor, just switches. I suspect it may be two stage (slow/fast) switch that drives a high current relay.

    Current rise in 12v pump

That's fine, you dont want it on the suction end. I think you got the correct type of motor, its just not turning off like it should. It should be pumping, and when spicket is turned off, pressure goes up and should open the normally closed pressure switch which turns off motor. Either the...

How do I reduce the speed of a 12v childrens car

We need to know more info about this circuit. Sketch or pictures of components. You can't simply disconnect one battery.

    Current rise in 12v pump

Yes, that's a problem. Sounds like the pressure switch is not opening up under pressure and its deadheading (stalling) the motor. I'd investigate/contact seller if there's an adjustment screw for the pressure where this switch off limit can be lowered. If not I'd send it back.

How do I reduce the speed of a 12v childrens car

I agree that more needs to be known to say for sure. A few years ago I modified a hotwheels type car and there was no controller or reostat only switches to control speed. I assumed it was a similar design.

How do I reduce the speed of a 12v childrens car

I'd rewire the 3 batteries from series to parallel connections. The battery runtime will increase and speed will go down to probably about 6 mph.

Cooling soldering iron quickly after use to reduce oxidation

I guess I'm obsessed too. I always unplug it if I won't be using it for several minutes or longer and alway wipe the tip off good with a damp cloth. My irons never go longer than a minute or two without being cleaned off. As far as obsessions go, its not a bad one.

Stabilizer for fridge, washing machine and Led TV

If so that's rotten luck that they all are bad. I suspect you might have an overloading problem where one of these appliances overloads your service panel and the other things on the same circuit loose power. Putting surge suppression (stabilizer?) will not fix the problem. Are these all on...
