    Repair Keyboard Rubber Contacts?

Have you tried contacting the manufacturer and inquiring about buying a replacement keypad?

Turn Signal and Side Marker in the one bulb?

I don't know what you have, but if this is a single element bulb, why don't you wire-in a dual filament bulb and separate the incoming signals. I suppose it won't help with what you want to do (it won't dim or turn-off the side marker), but it's an idea you might think about.

    Counterfeit IC's

I get lists about every three months from my suppliers of the latest 'hottest' devices in circulation. It cuts into their business, and the buyers don't seem to pay much attention to who they buy from, if they see they're getting a low price. You'd think we'd be hearing more about product...

    Identify a varistor

I don't have time to look it up right now, but that logo is Matsushita, which is the parent company of Panasonic. Try Googleing that and see if you can come-up with the specs on it. Good luck.

Trying to power late grandmother's portable TV

A 12VDC adapter means there is a positive and a negative, just like a battery, which is also DC. Your adapter connector polarity needs to be wired for the correct '+' and ' - ', just like a battery direction when you install one in a portable device. The TV probably has writing on the back that...

    Topic for presentation

I think you need to be a little more specific. "Electronics', is a pretty big subject, and it would help if you could tell us a little more about what area or topic you intend to present.

Health Care is so damn expensive...

Good news on your wife. Hope the both of you stay healthy for many years to come. I just spent a week with my dad in the hospital. My mom is dreading the hospital bill when it arrives. Their advice to me, is to not get old.

Power Supply for Mr Christmas Santas Marching Band - uk

You didn't show us the whole board, but I notice the four probable diode places that would form a bridge rectifier are missing, so my GUESS would be that the board would take a DC input. The connector may have been made specifically for your device, but it's a MOLEX type 3-pin connector that...

    Plotter Cutter Help

Do you have a manual for this, or can you check on-line for one? It sounds like a circuit problem, but with all the new stuff out there, I try to check the factory troubleshooting hints first, as a lot of devices come with safety interrupts. Please be careful with the blade. Is there a factory...

Switch is being detected as on even when in off position.

I'm not familiar with your interface board. Does it require some type of programming? If you don't see a problem with the switch continuity itself, I would think you may have blown one of the interface terminal inputs (or outputs). How is your system grounded? Is it possible your grounding...

Switch is being detected as on even when in off position.

I don't KNOW, but from your description of the problem I'd consider checking these two issues: 1) Recheck the desoldered/resoldered contacts on the wires you replaced, in case you have a short or an open. 2) You may have damaged the interface board electronics while testing your set-up. I'm...

    PT1000 transmitter wiring

Get the data sheet from the manufacturer, or on-line. It should tell you what to do for your application. Heck, email the manufacturer if you have a specific wiring question about your application.

cannot get sound on my Sony CCD TR93 camcorder

Is the mode you're trying to play, actually recorded in the 'stereo' mode? Maybe the audio signal is different from whatever you're trying to play it back on(?) Maybe somebody forgot to enable the audio when recording(?) Have you got some other stored video that you know works, that you can...

Help with signal leaking to power input

Well, I'd try to replace the motor, and THEN see if you still have the problem. Good luck with finding an inexpensive replacement.

    Absorption detector.

You've got a pretty tricky situation there. I can't think of anything inexpensive on the market to do what you want that doesn't actually contact the water. I'll think about this and post other ideas if I think of any. I used to work for a cement company. The issue when we made the mixture...

    What is this???

Sure looks like a transformer to me. It looks like it was stamped 'Hi Pot' after it was manufactured, which makes me believe somebody at the factory tested it, and then stamped it that way to verify that it had been tested before leaving the factory. As AnalogKid asked, are there any other...

    Insignia TV won't turn on

A board marking that says 'FUS' is very likely a fuse. Zero ohms across it sounds promising, but your meter is also reading the rest of the circuit in-line with the fuse. To check a fuse, it really should be removed and checked alone. 'Buzzing' sounds at low volume are not all that unusual...
