    I would hazard a guess and say yes. The component number is invariably behind two or more letters. IRF, RU, or SR for example. But it’s not for certain. Can you workout whether the SR is a N channel?. Martin

    What soldering iron are you using?. It looks like you’re heating the components leads without the PCB pad, which causes the ‘blob’ of solder. Either that or your iron is not hot enough to quickly heat the pad as well. Or of course, you’re removing the iron as soon as you see molten solder...

    It would depend on the locking mechanism. But it’s ALWAYS better to remove ALL accessories including batteries when storing items.

    Yes you can. They are different circuits. However, depending on the overall current requirements, you may get away with a single circuit. I’m still interested in the inside of your existing unit. It may be quite simple to simply change polarity on the the motor for CW rotation. Martin
