    Also, check continuity of each wire from motor to the switch. If it’s a mechanical movement, the wire may have broken. Simple fix. Martin

    That definitely looks like a motor. If it has a rating plate, look for the voltage. If it’s (probably is) mains voltage, you can test it with your mains supply. Martin

    Hi, transistors are normally ‘Q’. It certainly doesn’t mean it isn’t a transistor. But the other component, TA2 is a Triac. TA4 could be a TO92 triac. I’m honestly not sure. Let’s wait for more experienced members to chime in. Martin

    It certainly sounds like the transformer is toast. Do you know the secondary voltage?, you could always connect a bench power supply and test the unit. Martin

    0 or OL?. Ideally, it should be 0 Ohms. But I would have expected some meter lead resistance. 0.3 Ohms or so. On continuity or diode mode, does the meter ‘beep’ for a dead short?.

    If all AAA batteries have corrosive liquid in them, get a joystick that uses AA batteries;). NEVER store any device with batteries in them. Always take them out.
