    do I need a circuit?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/120935947271?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 i got 3 of these little suckers and I washoping there would be a nice big label saying voltage in / voltage out.... well there is but the Vout has 3 poles..... then I also saw this component used with a...

    Noob

it sounds like its a USB issue as all those components will use the USB. if you have too much connected at once power is an issue so try a powered hub. as its a laptop you can't really put in a PCI card to help out. beyond that no idea.... welcome to the website but this is kind of a different...

    Really dumb question

hey steve I see he said he used a "load of AA batteries". thats why I assumed he blew them... depending on how they were hooked up... the other side is he used 1.5v and hooked them up the wrong way hence no light. thats something for the OP to remember. LED's ONLY work one way. if you get...

    Really dumb question

https://www.electronicspoint.com/got-question-driving-leds-another-work-progress-t228474.html this is our tutorial on LED's worth a read if you have the time and 2 other things, welcome to the forums and this is a good question, I used to blow LED's all the time due to not having a resistor...

    Really dumb question

ok this is a 3 fold problem first you may have blown the LEDs from too much current but you state there was absolutely no light so it might be a loose wire somewhere second you bought some resistors..... what value? if its too low the LED may still blow even at 1.5 volts (standard AA voltage)...

Can I recharge AA batteries directly from a solar panel?

after looking at haralds page i found this http://www.amazon.com/Solar-Folding-supply-battery-charger/dp/B000XD9O2E/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1359373080&sr=1-3&keywords=solar+charger seems to fit the bill I might get one for myself...kids and electronic toys, going to spend money on...

    peltier devices

lol gonzo. I am hoping to avoid that. going to try a few things to cool it, water cooling is one of them. I am also thinking of piggybacking 2 of them apparently this makes it colder. all this for a small ice cold fan lmao.

    High amperage DC-DC down conversion

I know that, you know that... its the only thing I can think of as to why he is thinkinga relay will convert voltage/current. yes they both have coils but work in different ways. to step down DC voltage you can get step down convertors and regulators. relay is definately not the way to go as...

    High amperage DC-DC down conversion

I can only gooff current info and I assume you are confusing a relay (looks like a coil and a switch) with a transformer (2 coils) relay transformer a transformer IS used to alter voltage/ current is that what you are thinking of?

    peltier devices

I am trying to locate a variable power supply to try and make this work. I am trying to figure out a few things to make it work of the parts i have. for starters using 2 peltier devices in series from a 12volt battery may lower the heat as each should hypothetically receive lower voltage. also...

    peltier devices

today I got the freezing using the 12volt battery but the heatsink side was submerged in water, we actually put icein the water to keep it low temp. I am thinking of taking a transmission radiator some piping and a small pump and fan now to make this thing. and rather than actual water I might...

you could use pressure if its sealed, a float etc... but no matter what we need to know dimensions of tank or else all you will get is empty, low, full type things maybe if you are lucky a percentage

I am using a 12v 7ah sla battery which I think is half the cause as the voltage may be causing too much heat. the heatsink is bigger than the device and about 50mm deep with a fan on top.

hey ty raven. run into an issue. I borrowed a heatsink from a old computer. it included a fan which I was impressed with. anyway I can't get the cold side to freezing temperature as I had hoped. the ambient temp is 30+celcius here at the moment so that could be a factor. I was considering...

hey catcher, if its all about reading serial data via USB try one of the many microcontroller assemblies out there. A quick glance at Arduino shows a schematic to hook up a single button and one for analog input as well. theseare both printed to the serial monitor...
