    Do you have a link to the technical datasheet for that switch? I'm GUESSING that red/black go to the supply and yellow is the power line to the device you want to control. But that's just a GUESS - without the data there's nothing else to add.

    Regardless of it being a transistor (as the schematic shows) or a MOSFET as the datasheet might indicate, the fact that it reads as it does means it's dud. I'm assuming you're measuring it 'disconnected' from its circuit?

    Same situation applies. You will need a centre-off, two pole changeover switch that can easily be found in that format. The wiring (connections) to such a switch aren't quite as obvious as the switch I showed but it's all still doable.

    Note that, depending on the power consumption of the coffee maker, the step down transformer (regardless of the frequency) may cost more than the coffee maker.
