    Measuring Diodes in Cct.

Hi Michael, you should really lift a leg out of circuit for accurate measurements. But we all do a quick check like you have done. 0.3V-0.7V one way and nothing the other suggests the diodes are ok. I test zeners out of circuit and apply voltage from a bench supply. But you can sort of check...

    Two microcontrollers switching power sources

Why can’t you have one (1) 5V source powering both rather than a separate source for each? Martin

    Power Supply Clarification

As most items are ‘centre positive’ pin 1, it may be better to do it that way. This diagram has ‘negative centre’ pin 1. The battery will be your main power supply. Martin

Ps4 dualshock 4 controller thumbstick goes from analog to "digital" signal

If you changed a potentiometer, double check your soldering for a bridge across two contacts. Also for a loose solder pad. Moving the stick and going from 0% to 100% may indicate a short like a switch rather than a pot?. If you have a multimeter, you could check voltages on a working controller...

Ps4 dualshock 4 controller thumbstick goes from analog to "digital" signal

Actually, I think calibration is on the PS5. PS4 is a reset button on the back of the controller. Have you tried the reset button? Hold it for 3-5 secs then connect it via USB to console. Martin

Ps4 dualshock 4 controller thumbstick goes from analog to "digital" signal

Have you tried another ‘thumbstick’ to rule out a faulty one?. “Slippery” as in drifting is normally the thumbstick. Have you done all the calibration modes? Martin

    Carbon ribbon cable repair

As much as I know how difficult and frustrating it would be to attempt a fix, I’d give it a go. But I would go diagonally rather than straight across. Then bridge each with thin magnet wire. Then after a few days I’d be searching eBay for second hand keyboard. Martin

    Audio cable vs. video cable?

A simple option is to try it. My reverse cameras have RCA audio cables with no interference at all. And that’s with a vehicle engine running. No problem for a bicycle. Martin

    Audio cable vs. video cable?

If the camera has a TRS (tip, ring, sleeve) connector, then a headphone extension will work just fine. It should look like the left picture. Martin

    Laptop Short causing weird symptoms

Perhaps a picture is worth a thousand words!. Never bypass something with solder if you don’t know what it is or what you are doing. Almost guaranteed to destroy more. Martin
