    just a quick hello

Hello Aitch, welcome to EP. Ask away, newbie questions and all. You never know we might learn something from you :) Cheers Adam

very basic (general) microcontroller programming question

That's why we write in C, because it's reasonably portable. Thanks Adam

Stage Line 500W amp repair project

I'll give you a shout if I get into trouble, shame you live so far away, I could of posted it to you to fix and you send it back to me...job done :) Cheers Adam

Stage Line 500W amp repair project

I'll try, I have limited equipment at home so will have to get out the wet finger and start poking around lol :) Cheers Adam

    12V to 33V Converter

What are you not sure about?

Why are mains plug pins usually made of brass in the UK?

I think it's due to robustness. Brass is harder wearing than copper. Aluminium produces a greater oxide layer and gold is way too expensive :) Adam

Ok Pete just messaged you my works address. Cheers Adam

Stage Line 500W amp repair project

I could but not sure when I could look at it. I did say at the start when we lost Kris that I would and will keep my word, but would need to go through the whole thread again. Adam

Transistor amplifier configuration for transmitter antenna

Just to clarify, a half-wave dipole has a radiation resistance of 73 Ohms not an impedance of 73 Ohms. Dipoles of different wavelengths will have different radiation resistances. Thanks Adam

Could you guys help identify some things?

    That's a Tektronix 10 MHz scope. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Tektronix-T912-10-MHz-Storage-Oscilloscope-/331806382724

Could you guys help identify some things?

Your husband is correct. They are used to measure electrical signals and yes they are used very much today. Can you take some pictures of the other ones you have. The first one you posted can you see any name badge or label? Thanks Adam

    Super Simple Circuit questions

You need a retriggerable monostable, these can be easily made using standard logic gates and some timing components such as resistors and capacitors, you should be able to find lots of circuits on Google. Thanks Adam

    Help needed for Audio/Visual Project!

Ok so have a look at DIPTRACE, DesignSparks, KiCad and for a simulation tool that's free you can't beat LT-Spice or Tina from Texas Instruments. http://kicad-pcb.org/ http://diptrace.com/ http://www.linear.com/designtools/software/#LTspice http://www.ti.com/tool/TINA-TI Some of the free...

    Help needed for Audio/Visual Project!

Ok no probs. It will also be great fun to design a PCB for the project, you did say you wanted to learn :) If you decide to want to design your own PCB, we can help with that also. Cheers Adam

4098 Rising and Falling edge detection

Have a look for a power on reset IC or circuit. This can be a simple RC network followed by a Schmitt trigger logic gate. Thanks Adam.

    Help needed for Audio/Visual Project!

Doesn't seem that complex to me as long as we can find the converter ICs, otherwise you may have to use an FPGA to do some of the work for you, but of course you will need to be able to program one. Have a look here for some of your audio solutions http://www.cirrus.com/en/ This has an input...

    DC magnetic circuit

There are two other thing you need to factor in. One is related to a vacuum and the other has a measurement of distance (you mentioned this above). See if you can find the missing two. Thanks Adam

    Hello World!

Happy new year Andy. Welcome to EP I guess you can post your questions in say electronics projects or circuit help, that should be fine there. So fire away tell us what you want to do, I am sure you will enjoy the ride :) Cheers Adam
