    If you find whatever is creating the noise in your mechanism and replace or fix it, make sure you don't leave those rubberbands in there as a 'permanent' fix. They'll deteriorate and maybe really gum-up the works inside the deck.

    If I understand your problem, your INSTRUMENT is failing, but it's fed by a UPS that you believe is causing the failure. If that's the case, somebody needs to take a look at the UPS output. There's not much sense in trying to repair your instrument, if the UPS is just going to fry it again...

    Have you tried talking to the dealer parts dept? They probably have, or can tell you where to get the proper ignition switch that has a position to energize the accessories without turning-on the igniton.
