    Make sure you use a quality soldering iron with lots of heat carrying capacity i.e. a large tip - especially so for the larger solder pads found on PCB audio jacks. Nothing causes more damage than a 'cold' iron used excessively.

    It's not a 'voltage' as such. Most amplifiers require an input signal level that doesn't exceed around 750mV (0.75V) - this could be more or less, I'd need to see the spec on the amplifier to be certain. The signal used to drive a loudspeaker can be 10's of volts (again, depends on the device)...

    The regulated voltage is commonly on the main tab so your assumption could well be incorrect. Given you have multiple boards with the same issue it would seem that the fault is OFF board and probably in the main power supply section. One of the pins on those regulators will be an unregulated...

    The output from the nest (speaker connection) is too high and overloading your amplifier. You can fix this by adding a potentiometer or a resistor divider to reduce the signal level.

    Sounds to me like someone wants to make a USB lead that deliberately trashes any USB-C storage device that gets attached. As with @davenn I fail to see the reason behind the exercise as an example of 'disaster recovery' since there IS no recovery!

    If it's 'patches' then it sounds like a backlight LED is faulty - intermittent - which (sometimes) can be an easy fix but is also a nervous fix as you have to dismantle the screen and it's very fragile.

    If the monitor has more than one input you can use different signal sources to EACH of the inputs and use the monitors on-screen video-input selection function to display the relevant signal.

    Replacing those resistors (and the blown link) won't fix the problem. Components don't blow up 'for the sake of it' - there is ALWAYS an underlying cause and that cause, in your case, hasn't been determined. The fault condition indicates that there is a shorted power-control component...

    Not at all. In most cases the fuse is there to protect the CABLE supplying the voltage to the equipment. There is no mechanical fuse in existence that can operate quickly enough to prevent electronics blowing up. If the fuse is internal t the equipment then it protects from fire by overheating.

    Disconnect the colour channels and connect either the red or the blue signal to the green gun and see if you get a picture. If not then the gun is dud. If so then the green signal needs to be checked (oscilloscope needed).

    It's an issue with the green channel - whether the signal is missing or the green 'gun' in the tube has gone is to be determined.

    Just browsing the usual internet auction sites and came across a new 936 controller for $9... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222435500089?hash=item33ca306039:g:pvAAAOSwOgdYwmig which makes repairing the unit you have pretty much pointless! It would (probably) cost you $10 to have two resistors...

    Your bigger issue is the fact that a solid wire link to the top right of those resistors has also melted which means simply replacing those resistors will only result in them blowing up again. The fault is more 'traumatic' than a couple of blown resistors!

    Strangely (or not) I've just decommissioned an electronic cat flap(!) and it has two small latching solenoids that are used to set the physical in/out movement catches. If you;re UK-based I could drop them in the post to you?

    Potentially - and quite likely - but components fail far, far, faster than fuses do so the damage is done well after the fuse considered blowing itself up! For many circuits a diode failure in the power supply might be catastrophic but there are other types of power supply that have regulators...
