    If you were able to energise an inductor in free air and you remove the connections at exactly the same time. One side of the inductor goes negative and the other side positive. I dont know if that helps. Adam

    It also doesn't have to be a diode. MOSFETs are now used in some buck convertors, they are called synchronous convertors. Adam

    Better still have the device sinking current or use a transistor as a drive. At 9 Volts you get about 2.5 mA.. sourced current, not a huge amount for an LED, wont be that bright. Adam

    Hi Liam I personally would use linear pots for my tone control. It also depends how you want your cut to work. Take guitars for example, some manufactures use linear pots for both volume and tone while others use log pots for volume and linear for tone. Adam
