    Alarm clock in LED

I suggest that you instead make something new and/or better than what currently exists rather than reinventing the wheel. Even if this is a learning exercise, so too would that be. Plus without a background in electronics, you are basically asking us to design it for you. Minimum components...

BOSE Solo 10 Help - No Power Up - Pics + PCB Part List

No need to remove the schottky, I mean first you would measure whether AC voltage is getting to it. If there is, and no DC after it, it's bad. If there isn't, there is something upstream of it that's at fault. Similar is true of the transistors. I don't recall, is there a fuse and if so I...

BOSE Solo 10 Help - No Power Up - Pics + PCB Part List

Looking at it again, I don't see 4 in a square, just two... apparently my monitor is adjusted to low brightness, combined with your low brightness pic, made me guess that the two shadows I saw were two more transistors.

BOSE Solo 10 Help - No Power Up - Pics + PCB Part List

If this has water damage it could be a real PITA to troubleshoot. That could short out *anything*. Why do you suspect the 450V capacitor? In the pic it does not look vented to me, or do you see crusty dried electrolyte leaking out the bottom? I mean crusty like salt, not just some cement...

Help measuring resistance of fuse with this multimeter

I am suspecting this is worded awkwardly and the test is just across the fuse blades to check whether it is blown instead of the instructions reading "continuity test it". The 400 Ohm setting, with speaker icon next to it which should indicate it's continuity mode, would do that. However many...

    Sansui 5000a Won’t Power On

Ground fault outlets shouldn't cause a voltage issue by themselves, should either behave just like a regular outlet or trip. I could ask whether the receiver has a ground pin on the cord, or if it had its metal chassis touching something earth grounded, but it doesn't really matter if you did...

    Sansui 5000a Won’t Power On

If you're remembering right and the switch action has changed, it definitely could have failed and is now the problem. You'd need a multimeter to measure whether the switch is closing the circuit when in the on position. This does not require the unit to have power, just to make a continuity...

Short circuit during battery installation on iPhone 6s

You are saying that the phone itself caught on fire, or a battery protection board that was attached to the battery and is removed with it as a unit? Was the phone working properly and just too short a battery life or was there a sign of a problem before the swap? If the phone caught on fire...

Motorised TV Bracket Remote Control Receiver

Seems like it is time to open the box and do an autopsy to determine the failure mode and repair those discreet component(s). We "might" be able to assist with that, but since you have no knowledge of electronics, it might be too steep an uphill battle and at a bare minimum, you'd probably need...

    how to harvest transformer

Electrically that may be possible (remembering what BobK mentioned) but practically speaking it would be quite a chore to cut out the power supply section of the PCB or unnecessarily bulky to use the whole board or the whole chassis in addition to the other amp. Frankly I would sooner repair...

What would be needed to connect an OBDII to a PC to read the data from the ECM?

Random misfire is not the sort of thing where you're likely to need a faster scan tool. It's probably something like low fuel pressure, a vac leak, or faulty sensors such as temperature or airflow. Granted if your scan tool cannot read these things, what Bluejets linked is a type that will.

    Blowing fuses

Not just pics of the fuses but of the whole amp board or at least a start would be the larger area including the fuse(s). If you can't get an upload attached you could post it on https://imgur.com/upload or another hosting site and embed the link to it.

Somebody is using my email address

Looks like that/your account used only posted a couple times in a topic it started in 2009. As an admin that deals with this sort of thing on other sites, I would just consider the account abandoned and say you're free to use it - BUT IT'S NOT MY CALL TO MAKE. On a related note I've had this...

    Repairing PHP 2026 Massage Chair

You should have continued on in the topic you recently created instead of starting a new one. There are some resources in the following topic, which also indicates that the company is out of business so the sources for a replacement mainboard might be limited to Amazon or eBay, but as always I...

Check the switch for continuity (closes circuit) with a multimeter. Check the wires for the switch to the non-functional circuit in case they got pinched in a mechanism. If it is clear which two wires control each function at the circuit board then you can short those two pins together at the...

    heated jacket

^ Might not be too bad if it was cold outside and in a garment worn over other clothing. Besides the number is a bit meaningless without knowing the ambient temperature when the temp was taken so it could be seen as a rise over ambient temp, #. Back in the day people used to use lighter fluid...

    repair on Casio CTK-496 keyboard

^ Based on what was written, I am not getting the indication that there is any repair needed to the carbon traces, just a replacement key dome, which since they seem to be integrated into a strip of several, would mean replacing the whole strip. I take it you have found a replacement rubber...
