Do you still have the original charger? Perhaps it's a simple fix. Martin

Mainboard with reworks need comparison to same type

Hi, you have two threads for the same unit? I found a picture of the main board here on ebay. It might show you something. But different revisions might show different 'bodge' wires from the factory. This one has a long blue bodge wire on the back. It may be better for you to show us photos of...

    Sourcing a Trigger Switch

Looks like aliexpress might have very similar trigger switches. Does yours have a lock button? What tool is it for? Martin

Exceeding rated current for power input connector

Your colleague is correct about having headroom. You shouldn't run components at 100%, more like 75%. Just remember that the power supply can supply up to Max 20A and your load will only use what it needs. Have you actually measured the load current? Martin

    Led Bicycle Light

Thanks for the pictures. I can't see anything obvious either. One thing you could do is compare the other light innards. Especially the battery. It looks very tight and possibly swollen. But due to the shape of your lights, it could be normal. Do you have access to a multimeter? Martin

    Led Bicycle Light

That's a shame. You can take it apart and see if anything obvious stands out, like a loose charge port or broken wire to the battery. They are fairly common faults and happen either by transport vibration or simply poor workmanship. If you take it apart, show us some close clear photos of the...

    Car proximity sensor lead connectors.

Hi David and welcome to EP, You could probably get ideas from 'nano jst' connector or 'micro jst'. Also 'Molex' connectors. But how often does one remove a bumper? It could be just as good to cut, solder and heat shrink when required. Not as nice though admittedly. EDIT: Nothing special is...

    Led Bicycle Light

Perhaps you can leave it on to discharge the battery, then see if it charges. But without some sort of test tool, it'll be very difficult to know. Is it possible to return the lights under warranty rather than try a repair which will void the warranty?. Somebody might have an idea of checking...

    Led Bicycle Light

Hi Sickpuppy, is the 2nd light supposed to illuminate while charging? My guess is yes. Although the LED is not lit, is it in fact charging? Are you sure? Martin

    Pioneer HTZ121 DVD no sound

I can't source much info on your unit. Have you got the user manual? Here you can find it. There are so many ways and hacks for resetting equipment but I cannot find one for yours. Clicking sound? A single click like a thud? or fast continuous clicking? Martin

    Toast or Useable

If you are close to an airport, look up that airports frequencies. Heathrow airport , Heathrow, is mine. If you enjoy air shows, you can find the frequencies of that airshow. UK Marine are here. That's just a couple of examples. But your location, setup and antenna will play a big part. Martin

    Pioneer HTZ121 DVD no sound

It sounds like you had a short circuit at the speaker terminals which cleared after speaker removal. Probably a strand or two of speaker wire? Then upon reconnection, possibly vibration, caused the short again? Do you have wires or speaker connectors? Also sounds like the amp is blown now. Martin

    How Can I Resist?

You may not require 20mA. Some LEDs are still very bright at 5mA or less. Martin

    Toast or Useable

Not at all. I am not familiar with your model, probably a Bearcat of some guise. If you only want to eavesdrop on police or cell phones, you're out of luck. If on the other hand, CB, PMR, HAM, security, construction sites etc, it will still work just fine. I have several scanners that I use...

How is R3 adjustable? Shouldn't the wiper be connected to pin 7? Martin

WILLY LOMAN WAS JUST TOO DARNED ETHICAL

Not ethical. Even Mcdonalds have to put 'HOT' on their coffee cups!. A sign of the times for stupid people. I call them 'digital people'. As kids, we used to torture ants with a magnifying glass and the sun. This summer, my son was annoying ants in the garden. I told him about the magnifier when...
