    There are Johnson counters. But it's flip flop states would turn the 555 off when LED1 comes on. You can use diode steering to get around this and use the 555 as a one shot monostable.     You certainly are not wasting anybody's time here. If we can see obvious faulty components, you may be able to ask a friend or direct a tech to only replace what you tell him. But knowing is better than not knowing IMHO. Martin

    That's a shame, there are some other fairly simple checks you can do. Can you post a photo of the PCB? or a couple?. What we'll be looking for is possible leakage or bulged electrolytic capacitors. Your description of it 'copying' the bass or 'coming in and out' is very common. Martin

    It certainly sounds like a thermal fuse has triggered due to over heating. You have probably cleared the venting by cleaning all the fluff out. You will need to open the dryer to find the component. It should be close to the heater/element. Martin
