Help! Repairing water damaged PCB from Massage chair.

About #150. A word of caution: The area "beyond" the opto-isolation devices is High voltage and floating in regard to the other circuit GND! You should be very careful measuring voltages there. Do them on the DCV(never use the DCmV ). Measurements are not related to GND . So, each one as to be...

Help! Repairing water damaged PCB from Massage chair.

There is another issue on the main board. The wire you have used is too thin wire, should use much thicker. Actuality, the solder wick braid can be very good for this(if it's width is less of the print trace). You don't need to patch the all trace just the broken parts. see in the pic,the yellow...

How is the wire routed on this evaluation board

It looked familiar to me. A forum search indeed confirmed that. Once through the door the other through the window....here

    Need Help! Master Buss Compressor

If the diagram Steve attached is indeed the one of you unit ,a few notes: 1.The big 63V caps are not originals ,they should be 35V(much smaller size). that explains why thy are mounted on the PS of the board and not the CS. 2.The diagram shows a Bypass Switch(noted below), I think it...

It is Darlington Tr. TP122. I assume it is getting hot with nothing connected to the vibration socket,is this so? Check like this(empty white socket!): 1.No power, ohm test between the Yellow markings in the photo. 2.With power, Voltages on the transistor relative to GND as shown(B,C,E)-3...

9-phase generator without a microcontroller (it works, but phases aren't where I expected)

I think a Universal shift register would serve you much better: 1.You will be able to load any initial pattern (a chasing one included). 2.It will allow you to reverse the rotation movement of the motor in a very simple way by changing the shift from say Right to Left or vice versa. For...

9-phase generator without a microcontroller (it works, but phases aren't where I expected)

Alec, the cycle is composed of 2*Td*9 . There is no input frequency it is a ring osc.

    Need Help! Master Buss Compressor

If this is a stereo unit ,I don't think it is the PS caps. If they were you would get the problem on both channels. The proper instrument to test and fix this is an oscilloscope. A "PC audio scop" could do the job as well. There is a lot of dirt on the boards, first thing to do is clean well...

9-phase generator without a microcontroller (it works, but phases aren't where I expected)

Something doesn't compute:eek: 1. You say 600 Hz,but your scope says 2Hz,which is it? 2. Two adjacent points in the ring osc. (i.e input and output of a s.t gate)should be inverted(see the white trace I added instead of the yellow one) they obviously aren't. Are you measuring at the correct points?

Help! Repairing water damaged PCB from Massage chair.

It is possible to duplicate the Ic as you say, if: 1. Lock Code Protection isn't used(not very likely) 2. The "burning related" pins function properly. 3. You have the the correct burner/programmer. Better get the answers from Cozzia first. Have you tested the relay 1 circuit ,as per reply #162?

Help! Repairing water damaged PCB from Massage chair.

Well, It brings us to the absolute conclusion that the Controller IC is partially Bad . You should contact the manufacture and enquire about replacing it . There may be 2 options; 1.They send you the file to be burned in a new PIC18F452 IC. that can potentially be the cheapest way,most...

Help! Repairing water damaged PCB from Massage chair.

The remote is connected only to the controller IC (pins 2,3 of CN31). We don't know what "HW/SW protocol" is implemented between them. But everything on the board is control by the controller (with "help" from other devices). Try this: 1.Remove the Controller IC from the socket(without power)...

What about 1.Are there any buttons on the remote that function properly(activate something on the unit)? 2.Please check voltages on CN31 (relative to it's GND, remote plug out)-3 measurements. 3.Please connect the remote plug and check voltages on CN31 pins 2 and 3 without pressing and with...

o.k,all power pins of the IC are fine. You haven't completed all the tests on post # 145 ,please do(item 6). The remote is connected directly to Rx,TX pins of the IC. (operating in a serial link). Are there any buttons on the remote that function properly? Can you please post a clear photo...
