    I would think it's more likely to be the driver unit. If the resistor is open circuit, it has failed. Can you link to where you purchased the driver and resistor set?. Martin

    As Dave says, that barrel jack has three connections. A plus, a minus and a sense connection. You can check yourself with a multimeter to find out which is which. But you will have the external barrel, an internal barrel and a pin connection. Here is an example picture. Martin
